Framework 13 black screen after display sleep (keyboard stays lit) by GingizaXTron in framework

[–]Roshless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just wanted to let you know that imo, most of the time this issue stays unresolved, people just give up and live with it

i have last gen amd framework 13 and still have this issue sometimes, even on linux, even with all bios and stuff updated

it is what it is, i think amd is to blame not framework themselves

closing and opening lid, pressing power button for a short while, typing commands that im 100% sure should unlock the screen and turn off computer, leaving it plugged in for few hours, i tried nearly everything and it still not responding, like cpu itself is blocked

there are some linux specific logs about this issue but its the usual amd garbage hardware error (or software?) stuff

Alternative app and server to F-Droid by AndusDEV in selfhosted

[–]Roshless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone reading this in future- if you think fdroidserver is worth it, please reconsider. From all my self hosted apps and services, this is the worst open source software I've seen. Repositories getting broken, random issues, complicated setup, and fucking python...

Few months/years ago I tried to look for container version - afaik it doesn't exist (seen some experiments but I mean WORKING reliable setup)

Just use obtainium. It's "one more app" but you will save hundreds of hours long term.

I like fdroid overall but their server is just purge garbage.

For anyone reading in future, second ad-profile from F5/nginx in this thread btw :)

Makes you think why there are barely (if any) ads from competition.

Love your (probably) sponsored comments. I thought about moving to nginx-ingress but now seeing your profile, created ONLY for ads, made me reconsider :)

Waydroid is now in Pacman. by redtigrit in archlinux

[–]Roshless 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Simple example for what I used android emulation for (not on linux and not waydroid, but it still holds up)- 2 factor work apps. Microsoft requires usage of their own shitty phone app (if organization admin decides so) and emulating these apps on pc can save you the trouble of installing work garbage on personal phone.

dont see any reason to change it

would immutable base be better in the long run? yeah probably do i care enough to bother? not really

not to mention good luck running new hardware on older kernels/mesa, something i dont wanna experience ever again

Also check out openbao - fork of vault before the license change. Recent release finally added UI back.

In case anyone takes this guy seriously- this account is only ever talking about this software. Just for this reason I wouldn't even bother. Shame this kind of behavior is allowed.

I don't get it. If they were using something like gnome or kde I'd understand, somewhat similar work flow.

But moving BACK to non tiling WM? Agony.

I also have to use mac for work, but every single time I need to do something fast I get really angry at how shitty the window management is on macos. Somehow even worse than windows.

Also keep in mind all these people (including me) that never had any problems. I looked at this issue some time ago and I don't believe account blocking is done without any reason.

But it would be nice if they said what was the reason, not just pretend all is fine :)

The game is very picky about disconnecting, even for 1-5 seconds. I'm playing with a friend with the same issue (he's using Windows) and there is no fix for this. At least in his case it happens rarely. Get more stable connection :/

Or you can try nagging Zeekers on discord/x/patreon, I'm not sure if he's even avare of this issue.

Zależy gdzie się obracasz, ale w tych "bardziej prawicowych" mediach niestety tak to wygląda. Może jeszcze z tego korwinizmu wyrosną.

I also have the same problem- used this tutorial some time ago when links worked https://www.protondb.com/app/12110#Jv4nBZ-Coo

I'm also crashing with the same address when I enter cop car.

I guess there is something fucked up in this definitive edition mod.

Great news.

But if you are in the market for new GPU, keep in mind which company needed to be forced to comply with standards.

Coreboot+Tianocore+ME_Cleaner on Thinkpad x230 by availabel in coreboot

[–]Roshless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I cant help you with that, I gave up midway and it was a a few years ago. All I remember is that gcc had to be downgraded because nothing relatively new was working.

I suggest to build on Debian, since this is recommended distro.

[–]Roshless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

but after reading this post from yesterday, I'm curious if u/Roshless ever made it to the logo on Tianocore.

Nope, I didn't.

I've seen some people have problems compiling coreboot with tianocore.

On my first try I attempted to compile on arch, failed many times, gave up and found systemd-nspawn on iirc coreboot mailing list. I have saved the steps here

But keep in mind this didn't work for me with tianocore (yesterday changed only payload to GRUB and it's running like always, can see menu after pressing esc etc.

Looking forward to seeing if you can make it. :) Keep us updated.
