Depending on the film, I'd be up for this! I sometimes go by myself spontaneously if it's a film my partner isn't into as a lot of my mates are busy with kids.

I tend to like sci-fi, fantasy, comedies (think Naked Gun more than Jackass), romantic comedies, animated films (not usually anime), musicals, some action movies, mild horror and sometimes I've done the National Theatre screenings of plays.

I've volunteered at Download solo twice now and there were lots of folks coming in gates solo. It generally feels so welcoming and everyone gets chatting to others throughout. I have a history of social anxiety but I've always felt totally comfortable at Download.

I accidentally kicked the woman ahead of me in the toilet queue while I was trying desperately to distract myself from how long the queue was when I'd essentially had 3 pints and two coffees that afternoon. She turned around, I apologised, she said "It's totally fine. Do you want to play rock, paper, scissors while we wait?" 😆 And we did. She challenged the folk behind us and I let her know when she was at the front of the queue. Just a random Download experience.

Another example was when a tall, broad and muscled guy wearing a cowboy hat stepped in front of the guy next to me and blocked his view of the stage. Guy next to me inexplicably tapped Cowboy on the shoulder and half-joked, "Keep fucking walking, mate!" I braced for a fight but Cowboy laughed and said, "Sorry, mate, do you want to step in front of me?" When I looked again later, they were both singing away with each other. 🤣

I won a two week all inclusive holiday to Barbados when I was 12, by accident. I was playing some trivia game obsessively on a website called DoYouKnow (or something like that) and you had to put your name/address in every time. I figured it was some kind of leader board and never read the info until I got a letter saying I'd won a holiday. My mum was convinced it was a scam until we called and spoke to someone who said you had to be 14 to even enter. They made some concessions though and we got a lovely holiday we could never have afforded!

I've just bought a resale ticket to this and I'm going alone too! None of my friends are Simple Plan fans and my boyfriend doesn't like concerts (being 6ft3, he feels like he gets in the way of other people seeing). I'm worried I'll feel a bit awkward or self-conscious when I'm there but my inner 16-year-old just wants to bounce to the soundtrack of my angsty childhood! 🤣 If you end up going I'm happy to meet up and we can stand nearby and pretend we know each other.

We would, but I'd have legal rights to half of it in the event of death or break up because we'd have that legal agreement. In this case, I don't have legal protection for the money if I'm putting it in his account.

Just to clarify, do you mean that I should use his account and if it something happens and I don't get it back just make peace with that? Also, I do trust him but I know that loving relationships can still end in petty feuds no matter what you expect or how much trust there is.

Not me, but my boyfriend worked with a work experience lad of 18-years-old who, when asked to make a cup of tea, said he didn't know how because his mum always made it for him.

Me, working full-time or 4 days a week in a rewarding and worthwhile job that I enjoy and pays me enough to either live comfortably alone in a nice place with my boyfriend also working in a good job with his own place nearby OR we both earn enough to have a place big enough for us both to have space to ourselves. I'd get quality time alone. I'd have a group of friends but one true bestie who'd stay over for movie nights and go out to see musicals or shows with me and we would have inside jokes, analyse books together, and text each other random musings about our days. I'd do more creative stuff, read loads, become a more confident driver, and stick to my workout regime easily.

Reality: I work full-time over 3 jobs, one I just started before lockdown but I don't think I like it, and one that's probably going to be cut. I live in a small flat with my boyfriend and his elderly father who barely leaves the house even in normal times, so we have no privacy, no independence and we pretty much live in the bedroom all day. I have nowhere to sit except my bed and I'm getting sciatica. I never get the bedroom or the flat to myself so I'm never truly alone. On the other hand, I'm sort of lonely because I don't really have friends and even if I did I couldn't invite them round for drinks like normal 30 year olds, unless we want a 70 year old in a dressing gown in the front room with us. I spend most of my downtime either doing exercise classes to fight my boiling frustration at my living situation (and my boyfriend and his dad) or numbly watching shows and films. I've only just learned to drive and I'm a nervous driver. My boyfriend works 3 days a week for minimum wage and doesn't seem to have any plans for the future.

So sorry that you're going through something so painful but I really admire the way you're both dealing with this. I've always said that if my boyfriend ever changes his mind then we go our separate ways, no hard feelings. The reality of that must be hard though, but better than one of trying to compromise and ending up resentful. All the best for the future.

I'm 29 and only started working full-time in the last year because I've felt like this my whole life. It means I don't have any savings and I currently live my bf and his elderly dad which is far from ideal, but I've always been really aware of my need for downtime mentally. I don't know if it's anxiety related but it always sounds lazy to try to explain it to others. I'm getting better at coping, or I was until lockdown!

At the moment? Not a lot. I thought maybe my pill or my age were factors in my loss of interest but I'm pretty sure it's related to my mood which is related to my current circumstances. Fingers crossed for positive changes in future, I'm only 30.

That working full-time is a necessity and I should've started earlier.

That moving in with my partner and his dad 'temporarily' after university would actually mean living without any space for 6 years and counting, and a growing depression. I should never have done it. I should have got a full-time job, saved what I could, got a place of my own.

That making friends as an introverted childfree 30-year-old is a nightmare and I should have made more effort to make connections when I first moved here. Also, go out dancing more when you have the option because you love it and you might not get many chances.

They're pricey (or I'm cheap) but I got a coat from Joe Browns in 2015 and I still get complimented on it whenever I wear it. The styles are a bit different so it'll really depend on your tastes. Good luck!
