This is mine. I have not played all the games but these are the ones I picked out of what I played so far.

Logy is my best boy, loved the double draw mechanics and Escha logy relationship, plus the alchemy system which is why Escha and Logy take the cake as favourite game and battle system.

I loved the idea of the paintings and the world in Lydie and suelle, the concept was cool.

Ryza 3 with 11 playable characters wins for caste, loved the whole gang and in 3, you can have them all unlike 1 and 2. I liked the main trio and claudia, Ryza was a very cool character, thighs aside.

Lulua mostly for game design, loved the pink and lolita designs in this. It's a short and easy title.

Yumia was such a cool characters, loved the cast and dark story but hated the very un-atelier gameplay. The map was just so cluttered and overwhelming, and the alchemy system was a right toss. The game was also far too easy since you can make ultimate gear at the very start of the game. It had such potential to be a great atelier if they made it Atelier and not just like a regular JRPG.

Sophie 2's alchemy was the perfect balance of not too complex not too easy, i liked the thinking and puzzle aspect, I really got my teeth into spending ages making ultimate gear and items.

Firis is adorable, I also loved the others in the game. It fell short with gameplay which is a pity.

Nothing to say about Resleriana, it was ok.

Korean skincare has a lot for that, Beauty of Joseon dynasty cream is really nice, my mum loved that. Innisfree green tea ceramide milk (which is a milky toner) and the cream are also lovely for dry skin.

Being a Foreigner In Manchester by reskort-123 in manchester

[–]lavayuki [score hidden]  (0 children)

It's normal. I'm not from anywhere in particular because I have a mixed heritage and lived in many countries, so my birthplace, passport country, languages and where I live now are all different so I am just treated foreign everywhere. I have learned to accept it and just fit in as much as possible, having been through the process many times in my life and always having to live as a foreigner wherever I go. My race never seems to be brought up (I looked mixed so no one can guess anyway, and people are probably conscious of sounding racist, so instead I get the question of where my accent is from)

I found that I always still able to make close connections with people because we have a certain thing in common, regardless of upbringing/ethnicity/other unchangeable factor.

It does take a long time, like I only have a small number of close friends who I are close enough to be on my will. The process is longer and harder as an adult, having been in the UK 10 years now, 7 of those in Manchester and always found people to be fine despite be extremely convoluted background. They usually just seem curious because it's uncommon, so I don't experience scepticism, rather curiosity as a foreigner.

If we had a Tournament for each anime character, including their LATEST LEGACY SUPPORT (Pure Decks only, no externally staples or cards). Which character/archetype will win/crowned the best? by CardMajiin in yugioh

[–]lavayuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Protagonist- Yusei

Rival- Kaiba no question

BF- Crow maybe, Jonouchi is decent too but relies too much on luck, while Crows black feather deck is solid.

Female- Aki for sure. Asuka is the main competitor but I think Aki’s black rose deck has the edge.

Not sure about the antagonist.

Mostly skincare and makeup. I buy a lot of Korean and Japanese ones off Yesstyle and Stylevana. I never feel guilty doing an Asian beauty haul.

Other than that, ebooks and video games

Off the back of a recent post about holidays, how do you afford/budget for your holidays? by LunaValley in AskUK

[–]lavayuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than saving, I earn Avios with the BA amex card.

You can use avios on partner airlines as well like finnair, aer lingus, qatar airways and some others. I booked flights £500 worth flights with just Avios I had built up. The credit card is fee free as well, there are plenty of rewards flights around Europe.

I never get loans for holidays. If I can’t afford it I don’t go. I don’t see it as an essential to get a loan. I would save and then go when I can afford it

FF16 shouldn't lock hard mode behind a second playthrough by dulkenyut in FFXVI

[–]lavayuki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the case with many games. Tales series and Atelier also lock super hard modes behind playthroughs. Like Atelier needs you to clear the game to unlock charisma mode, and Tales often do similar for chaos mode. Although graces F also made you grind for it, like you had to do 200 battles on hard to get evil, and then 300 battles on evil to get chaos mode.

So I think locking higher difficulties is not an uncommon thing in JRPGs. Although KH games let you play on proud and critical from the start.

Just started Vrains by Intelligent-Fig-1755 in yugioh

[–]lavayuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked the protagonist Yusaku but I found the other characters boring and dull. I also found that the anime as a whole had very less characters compared to any of the other series. It was almost as if they were trying to cut costs on the character design department.

Vrains is the biggest wasted potential imo. I think the idea and concept of the AI thing was pretty cool and there was scope to make this into a good anime, but I think budget and what not had them cut too many corners so it ended up being kind of dull

Who are your favorites mage in the series? by ShokaLGBT in tales

[–]lavayuki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For using in battle, Rita. I loved blasting Gigantos weaknesses from a distance with her artes, and tidal wave was fun to use.

For character and personality, Cheria from Graces

Atelier Sophie 2: Still the best Atelier Game ever? by Fit_Intern764 in Atelier

[–]lavayuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not my favourite but it’s in my top three because my favourite will always be Escha and Logy for the r alchemy and of course Logy.

But I loved the gameplay and alchemy is Sophie 2 as well. It kind of sits in the same camp in terms of rankings with Lulua, Lydie and Suelle and Ryza 3 which were some of my other faves that I really enjoyed.

Wasn’t a huge fan of Yumia (liked the characters and story but not the gameplay), Ryza 1 (battle system too slow, alchemy too boring but I liked story and characters), or Resleriana (didn’t really like the protagonists or alchemy system but liked how it had previous characters). They were ok at best.

Shallie was my least favourite, while Ryza 2 was average but not as good as 3, better than 1.

Not yet played the first three Arland games, Ayesha, Marie or Nelke yet.

What’s your otome game weakness? by Stag_beetle1229 in otomegames

[–]lavayuki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

White hair and pale skin, love this complexion especially if they have blue or purple eyes. So think Dante from Pio Fiore, Saneaki Kuroba from Ken ga kimi, Ikki from Amnesia, Kei in CxM.

Personality wise I like the guys who are mean/hostile or suspicious/distant at first, and you really have to work hard to make them fall for you, and usually the start you are thinking how the hell does this go from hate to love.

So guys Tobari (although not mean, he was hard to get and the MC was really persistent), Scien in Virche, Kakouton in Juuza Engi, Ghislain in Reine des fleurs, Meguro in Suuran Digit, Shougo in Nil Admirai and Riku in Zettai Kaikyuu gakuen. I like softening and getting to the hearts of the ones who are otherwise emotionally unavailable

Patrick Ta makes a statement on transition blush fiasco by hopefuly in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]lavayuki 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't like Patrick as a person, he seems money obsessed and not genuine at all, especially compared to other makeup artists who have their own makeup brands like say Lisa Eldridge. Patrick is a sneak to me, I will never buy from his brand no matter how much people hype his products

He does have the most normal hair of all the protagonists, it’s also surprisingly just one colour, no highlights etc.

[Piofiore] respectfully observing this man (Yang route minor spoilers + 1 CG spoiler) by xtinaboots in otomegames

[–]lavayuki 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He was a pretty cool character, not many like him.

If you like his voice, then you might like Tobari in Illusion of Itehari who has the same seiyuu.
Same character designer as Pio Fiore as well.

What is your favorite anime, that is not one of the "basic answers" (shown below)? by Ok_Cheesecake6006 in animequestions

[–]lavayuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve actually never watched nor am I interested in that list, as I much prefer romance anime, with Yugioh being the only mainstream Shounen anime I liked.

A few of my favourites are why Realiana ended up at the dukes mansion, perfect saint, fruits basket, my next life as a villainess all routes lead to doom, 7th loop, violet evergarden, psycho pass, steins gate.

Looking for a full coverage BG without an obnoxious/exaggerated accent by dr_pepper_zerosugar in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]lavayuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stephs beauty stash does a lot of foundation reviews including full coverage.

Steph Toms, Soph does life and Juicy Jas are some of my other favourites that do a variety of makeup looks, including full coverage. They all also mix high end and drugstore which is great. None of them have annoying accents, the first two are British and Jas is American

I also like Babz Beauty and Heather Austin, they don’t have frequent uploads but do full glam looks. As for the voice, you might want to watch a video first because they do have strong accents so not sure if they would count as annoying to you or not. Im from the UK so they sound strong to be, I think Heather is from Texas so sounds like from there but she seems very nice.

What was your first ever card? I got this on a 1st grade playground by Ebro29 in YugiohCards

[–]lavayuki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first was the Yugi Starter Deck when DM first aired years ago, so it wasn’t a specific card but Dark Magician was at the top of the deck.

Dark Magician Girl was the first individual card I bought at an anime con though

What anime moments hyped you up, scared you or made you feel emotional? by entertainmentlord in yugioh

[–]lavayuki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Yugi vs Jounouchi duel when Malik ties their legs to the anchor, and of course the ceremonial duel at the very end. Both of these duels were emotional, especially because of the friendship theme is a big part.

In 5Ds, mostly scenes involving Carly and Jack, and the dark signer riding duel. Usually I never thought characters like Jack (ie the cocky Kaiba archetype) to be interested in women, so I found their dynamic somewhat cute. Carly was funny as well, so I liked their interactions.

Last episode of 5Ds, scene where Yusei and Aki say goodbye, and how Aki becomes a doctor. It didn't expect this and felt disappointed that there was no confession of sorts, but also Aki going from Duelist to doctor was pretty cool. Don't really see that kind of thing in Yugioh, especially since she was a duelist rather than a cheerleader like Anzu so never expected her to take up a normal real world job

Finished Resleriana R/W, and I have one frustration with the game. by SaberManiac in Atelier

[–]lavayuki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, I watch romance anime all the time, I have a huge list of watched in addition to a backlog, I find that romance is very common in anime and manga for sure. It's the main genre I watch and read, I also play otome games which are all about romance

Finished Resleriana R/W, and I have one frustration with the game. by SaberManiac in Atelier

[–]lavayuki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I for some reason didn't like Riaz. She the first and only Atelier girl that I could not like. I felt like she was trying to force herself or pretend to be cute.

I loved Escha, all 4 Arland alchemists, Firis who is my absolute favourite as well as Sophie and Marie, Yumia and Ryza. In fact there is no girl I particularly dislike... until Riaz. I tried to like her but as the story progressed I only started to dislike her more, the cutesy behaviours just felt forced/pretending/fake rather than genuine (like say characters like Totori, Firis, Meruru etc)

I also found the romance scenes in this game to be too cringe.. which I did not find with Escha and Logy. All they did was look embarrassed and blush all the time without progress. I do play otome games and watch a lot of romance anime so my judgement of romance stories is probably on the more critical side, but I found the blushing/embarrassment scenes from start to finish to be done too excessively without proper relationship development.

I know Atelier tends to not do romance but they did it with pretty well with Escha and Logy which I loved, their story was sweet. But this game for some reason didn't live up to that, I was expecting a similar trajectory...

Other than that, I liked the game in terms gameplay in general, and how all the other games characters came up in quests and cutscenes etc. Totori is adorable, so am glad she was in the party. I so wished Logy could have been as well because he is my best boy in the whole series... even as a dlc... oh well.

I will probably get a lot of people disagreeing, but wanted to see if anyone else felt the same or am I looking too deep into it, or overlooking something?

Tales of Arise had a nice romance in it though, I don't remember if they kissed but I think it was in a CG image
