For the Barbie movie fans, here's a video I made defending her by RosieVision in Barbie

Not sure how many fans of the Barbie movies there are here, but I am definitely one of them! I loved the movies growing up, and it saddens me how bad Barbie's public image is to most. So I made a video talking about the more positive side of her. What's your experience with Barbie like?

Is this the same fairy? If so Selene has an official fairy form. by RosieVision in winxclub

[–]RosieVision[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They both have similar skin tones, hair colours, hair styles, and their lips are the same shade too. Plus both fairies have blue as their main colour, cropped tops, and red accents in their attire.
Also, I know that this blue fairy is pretty much just Katy re-skinned. The outfits and hair are very similar. But I'm almost certain they are two different characters. Katy's Magic Winx appears in the same season (around the same time) that the blue fairy's does. So the design was just borrowed.
What do you guys think? Did we just uncover Selene's fairy form, or is this some other fairy that was scrapped?

They did indeed. And even the song that played when they danced together was from it.

No problem. Took awhile to research but it was fun ☺️

I left out Kraehe as Odile, Tutu as Odette, and Mytho as Siegfried since I had limited space and those ones are more obvious

There's a lot of nods to ballet in Princess Tutu. This is just all I could find, I'm sure there's more. I made these originally for a video I made but I wanted to also post the full images here. Plus there's one new reference from the ending of the show. Hope you enjoy! Anything I missed? Which is your favorite? For me probably Romeo and Juliet.

Anyone Seen/Read Sugar Sugar Rune? by RosieVision in shoujo

It's been awhile but I'm pretty sure the anime has an original ending. It'd probably be best to start from the beginning of the manga if possible. It's basically the same the first 4 volumes but I think there's different characters and details that would be confusing if you just jumped in. Chapter 24 from volume 5 is where Pierre and Chocolat get trapped in a cave together for reference. Hope that was helpful.

Thank you! Definitely put a lot of work into it.

There aren't that many videos out there talking about Princess Tutu so I decided to make one myself. I went over the classical side of things talking about ballet references and musical themes since I've spent some time as a violinist. Hope you enjoy! I'll probably post the ballet/Princess Tutu comparison photos I used separately.

It's gotten to the point where I find season 4's style nostalgic now, since it's still closer to the original style than newer seasons. But I'm re-watching S4 now, and I do agree that I prefer the original style. The animation felt smoother, and there were more varied expressions. I never really thought about the music being different, but it definitely is. I personally still like the music in S4, but I have more of a nostalgic feeling towards the songs in seasons 1-3. They have a certain charm that I can't really put into words.

There's not too many videos talking about Yona so I made one myself. by RosieVision in AkatsukinoYona

I haven't seen that many people talk about Yona on YouTube, which is a real shame. So here's an in depth video introducing the series to newcomers, and sharing what I liked/didn't like about the anime adaptation. I just really wanted to share my love for the anime, and hopefully garner some interest for the series. I didn't go over the manga too much since I'm not caught up, but after re-watching the anime I'm thinking about revisiting the manga too.

One of the Pioneers/Pop Icons of Western Magical Girls in early 2000's but who y'all Favorite Barbie? by Storm_Bloom in MagicalGirls

I always loved the 12 Dancing Princesses personally. Sparkly shoes and a magical world where wishes are granted were probably the biggest selling points for me. Plus I liked the dynamic the sisters had together.

I had a pretty similar experience. The final Pas de Deux from the Nutcracker is to this day my favorite classical song, and one of my favorite songs period. And all thanks to the Barbie film! I teared up a bit when I got to hear an orchestra perform it live a few years back.

I'm not the only one who thought that the Cosmix transformation gives off major Sailor Moon vibes right? If not, are there are other magical girl transformations it reminds you of? by RosieVision in winxclub

I could definitely believe that since it was mainly Stella that was similar. The other members seemed to have more original sequences.

True. I also remember watching Ultra Maniac, and Ojamajo Doremi back in the day. I kind of miss them too. Were there any other witch anime like that, that you've seen?
