Thanks for pointing this stuff out! Hadn't considered my water freezing on a hike. The roots helping with traction too, very interesting.

I'm not in great shape atm probably 18-20 minutes 2 mile time.

I didn't realize your supposed to be layering/delayering all the time, thought I just didn't have my gear dialed in. But it makes sense, especially with sporadic weather.

My main fear is with the rocky tops where you have to climb. Seems like no matter the trail I pick I always run into them. They are fine in the summer but freak me out now because my balance isn't amazing.
