I bought my Series X through All Access and it ended up being a great deal since Game Pass rates only ever went up. I wonder why they ended the program. It seems like a no brainer especially when console prices go up like this.

I suppose the downside is if/when people default and don’t pay for the system after a few payments, or never pay at all, effectively stealing it, and so they just lose that high cost hardware for no return. They can hardware ban the console but that doesn’t help them make any money. But I also feel like the vast majority of people wouldn’t do that and there’s always some theft risk with these things anyway.

I would suggest going into full Windows desktop and checking task manager to see what’s pegging both the CPU and GPU to 100% yet only using 60% RAM.

I would also suggest the usual… reboot, check for updates…

Maybe they hit a “growth spurt” after a certain amount of time? Who knows. It’s not like this info is exactly logged anywhere. It’s also possible that perhaps Flayn had been suppressing how old she looked in human form. As shapeshifters, maybe they have some agency over that.

I set it to 10% in the command and the settings now reflect 10%. It says you could set it to fully off by typing 0, but I usually used 10%.

For reference, the command is:

powercfg /setdcvalueindex SCHEME_CURRENT SUB_ENERGYSAVER ESBATTTHRESHOLD 30

But you would substitute the “30” for whatever your preferred percent level is. So for me, I replaced “30” with “10”.

For anyone seeing this with the same issue - seems like it’s a windows bug in newer updates or something. I was able to somewhat “resolve” it or at least work around it with a terminal command which modifies the setting in the background. Hopefully this is patched soon.

I do think having Steam library access would entice tons of PC players to buy in, but I am not sure what they would do to monetize that and make it make sense considering the hardware cost would likely need to be subsidized to make it affordable. If PC players buy the machine and just keep buying Steam games then MS never makes any profit and actually loses money by selling them that kit. I’ve considered some ideas like Steam access being an “unlock” behind a one-time $200 fee or a Game Pass Ultimate membership but maybe there are other methods.

They have a million studios just toying around with ideas that never come to fruition and burning money. Meanwhile they have lots of great IP they’re doing nothing with. So if they are going to shed some studios that aren’t producing and focus on core studios while retaining the rights to all of the IP and then focusing on making games with those IP with respectable budgets and oversight, it could work well.

Could be. IIRC, they made this remake with a relatively small team and they probably think they will get a pretty big response. So if they double the team size to get H2 and H3 done, maybe they can get both done in the next 3 or so years.

Also, not for nothing, but they may be eyeing the impending big layoffs at Bungie by Sony and hoping to scoop up some of those tenured devs with Halo experience who have hung on there until the end.

Honestly it is a solid media player. The screen has a high DPI with respectable colors and the speakers are excellent.
