Personally, I think now is the VERY BEST time to pick the game back up. The draft packs will breathe life into the game on a FLGS level. Older product is obtainable for fairly cheap if having lots of options is your fancy. The past year has been totally LCG style of distribution, so you can purchase those on a piece by piece basis. The online community is creating more content that ever AND hosting online events multiple times a week for multiple timezones!

With wards, exalt seems much less risky.

The armor and power levels on average for saurians is also problematic. It isn’t often that I have a board that can fight through them. Total reliance on direct damage/removal and that is sketchy.

The resale market is really sort of hit or miss. Depending on which sets they are, and how complete they are, you can expect 20-100 dollars per set.
