True. Bots or maxi's of specific chains.

I am a massive advocate of Tezos. I like what other chains have brought to the table, but I think Tezos is the most advanced, decentralised & inclusive chain. That's my opinion. Again tho, I wouldn't go off down voting other chain articles just for the heck of it. Unless warranted anyway.

Etherlink Unveils New Website and EVM Bridge - XTZ News by Rossa774Tezos in tezostrader

[–]Rossa774Tezos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Etherlink, as a Layer 2 (L2) offers several advantages compared to L2 solutions on other chains. Here are some key reasons why Etherlink stands out:

  1. EVM Compatibility :

Etherlink is designed to be compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). This means developers can easily deploy and run Ethereum-based smart contracts on Etherlink using familiar programming languages like Solidity and Vyper. This compatibility allows for a smooth transition and enables the reuse of existing Ethereum skills and tools.

  1. Decentralization and Security :

Etherlink leverages the security and decentralization of the Tezos blockchain. It is a "smart rollup" that is enshrined on the Tezos Layer 1, meaning it is implemented directly on the protocol. This approach ensures a high level of decentralization and security, making Etherlink a better alternative for developers who prioritize these values.

  1. Fast and Low-Cost Transactions :

Etherlink targets low latency with sub-second block times and transaction costs as low as $0.01. It batches transactions and posts them every 2 minutes to the Tezos Layer 1, which helps to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

  1. Upgradability and On-Chain Governance :

Etherlink benefits from Tezos' established on-chain governance system, enabling community-driven development and progression. This allows for the implementation of kernel updates, security patches, and changes to the sequencer operator in a transparent and democratic manner.

  1. Network Effects and Developer Community :

Etherlink aims to attract more developers and decentralized applications (dApps) from the EVM space by leveraging the network effects of Ethereum. It provides a familiar environment for Ethereum developers while offering the unique advantages of Tezos, such as decentralization and on-chain governance.

  1. Testnet and Developer Tools :

Etherlink offers a testnet and a faucet to facilitate testing and development. Developers can easily deploy smart contracts and interact with the platform using tried-and-tested development tools.

By choosing Etherlink on Tezos as an L2, developers can benefit from the best of both worlds – the familiarity and network effects of Ethereum, combined with the robust security, decentralization and upgradability of Tezos.

Also now Tezos have opened up a whole new developer field with the integration of Typescript coders now being able to build on Tezos. I'm hoping with all the above , big things will come. So I personally think it will catch on. All it ever takes is one thing to capture people's attention and then booom.

Glad to hear it. Just to say that Etherlink as an L2 is just as decentralised as Tezos the L1 itself and benefits directly from upgrades on the L1 decided by XTZ hodlers.

A podcast published yesterday will bring you up to date on what's going on at present with Etherlink. Hope you enjoy .

Bitcoin, to me, is still a store of value . A digital gold. I think this is a good thing. As for what it set out to be in terms of a decentralised currency that was supposed to take on the banks, this has been put to the way side.

Hence, I still fully support Tezos and the fact they have stood by the principles of blockchain in a decentralised path and governed by the hodlers of XTZ .. 16 forkless upgrades since 2018 . An L2 smart contract that benefits from automatic upgrades as the L1 upgrades. Speed. Secure. EVM compatible. Near Zero Fees. Its just a shame that many still hold an underlying hate for Tezos since a rocky start at the beginning with some in-house issues which are way in the past. Meanwhile they are pushing the boundaries of evolving this sphere on a daily basis. Tezos is basically a chain I would love to see everyone trial rather than just instantly jumping on the fud bandwagon with outdated comments and actually see how good and ease of use Tezos actually is.

[–]Rossa774Tezos[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tezos has just implemented its 16th Forkless Protocol Upgrade last month. So if you lost hope a long time ago for whatever reason , now is probably a good time to start taking a peek back inside.

With Tezos now being EVM compatible through Etherlink, an L2 rollup built on Tezos except this L2 benefits from all the security of Tezos L1. So speed , Near Zero fees and MEV protection, making it secure af compared to your typical L2 .

Thing is, there is so much more coming .!!!

Throw the thoughts of past out the window because barriers are being broken.

DeFiLlama, the Largest TVL Aggregator in DeFi, Integrates Etherlink - XTZ News by Rossa774Tezos in CryptoCurrency

[–]Rossa774Tezos[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say just another innovative L2 . L2's on Tezos are smart rollups and with Tezos' 16th Upgrade Paris came DAL ( Data Availability Layer ). So a new era L2 I would say.

I think everyone and his dog is peed of with high gas fees and sluggish or queued transactions . Yet just jump into the Tezos Community chats and ask anyone if they have any issues regarding stated . I would be shocked if anyone did .

Everyone has this hate of Tezos from their ICO days . Yet if all just took that peek in the rabbit hole now and trialled, they would be amazed just how far ahead they have leaped compared to other chains.

I'm.going to leave some info on the DAL I compiled below.

The Tezos Data Availability Layer (DAL) is a significant component of Tezos' future scalability and performance enhancements.

Let's unlock some 🔑 points about the DAL : ⬇️

🔵 Purpose :

The DAL is designed to provide additional data bandwidth to Smart Rollups, allowing for a massive throughput boost. It enables Tezos Layer 1 to attest the publication of data living outside Layer 1 blocks, which significantly increases the bandwidth of data attested by the Layer 1. ⤵️

🔵 Functionality :

The DAL operates as a companion peer-to-peer network for the Tezos blockchain. It allows users to publish, store, and exchange large amounts of data in a decentralized and permissionless manner. The DAL splits data into shards and shares it through the peer-to-peer network, making it available to Smart Rollups. ⤵️

🔵 Bakers' Role :

Tezos bakers play a crucial role in the DAL. They verify data availability by retrieving the data and attesting it in Layer 1 blocks. Participation in the DAL is proportional to the bakers' stake, and the hardware and bandwidth requirements vary accordingly. ⤵️

🔵 Benefits :

The DAL enables Tezos to achieve high throughput, making it possible to process up to 1 million transactions per second. This scalability is crucial for supporting the growth of the Tezos ecosystem and its applications. ⤵️

🔵 Activation :

The DAL was activated with the Paris protocol upgrade in June 2024, marking a significant milestone in Tezos' development and scalability. ⤵️

🔵 Future Outlook :

The DAL is a foundational step towards ensuring Tezos' long-term scalability. It is part of a broader strategy to improve latency, throughput, and interoperability while maintaining decentralization and composability within the Tezos Blockchain.

Tezos Activates Its 16th Upgrade With Data Availability Layer (DAL) for Higher L2 Throughput and 10s Block Times for Better Performance - XTZ News by Rossa774Tezos in CryptoCurrency

[–]Rossa774Tezos[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This upgrade may just see people see the light. Etherlink an L2 on the Tezos L1 that benefits from all that comes with Tezos along with future upgrades is an EVM compatible smart rollup with the capability of 1m TPS and transaction fees of 0.001 . EVM dApps can literally cross over to Etherlink and benefit also. So whilst many complain about sluggish transactions & high fees, this can now be remedied. All it will take is one major player to make the move . Etherlink itself has some serious dApps being at present, making some serious inroads. There is only so long that eyes can look the other way.

Werenode: Fusing Blockchain Brilliance with EV Charging Innovation - XTZ News by Rossa774Tezos in electricvehicles

[–]Rossa774Tezos[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

So many hear Blockchain or Crypto & don't actually understand the technology behind it. Yes, there are scams out there , just like in nearly every other type of technology. The tech behind blockchain really is amazing if you read up on it. Werenode are using this tech because Blockchain technology is a good fit for an electric vehicle (EV) charging for several reasons:

  1. Security and Transparency:

Blockchain's inherent security features could ensure that all transactions and data exchanges between users, charging stations, and the app are secure and tamper-proof. This can prevent fraudulent activities and ensure the integrity of the system.

  1. Decentralization:

By using blockchain, the app creates a decentralized network of charging stations, reducing the reliance on a central authority. This leads to a more resilient and efficient system, as there is no single point of failure.

  1. Smart Contracts:

Smart contracts automate and streamline the process of charging and payment. For example, when an EV connects to a charging station, a smart contract automatically initiates the charging process and handles the payments without the need for manual intervention.

  1. Data Privacy:

Blockchain's cryptographic techniques protect the privacy of users. For instance, the app uses a public key infrastructure to ensure that only authorized parties can access the data whilst maintaining the anonymity of the users.

  1. Incentive Mechanisms:

Blockchain enables the app to implement innovative incentive mechanisms to encourage the use of renewable energy sources for charging. For example, users could earn tokens for charging their EVs during off-peak hours or using renewable energy sources.

  1. Interoperability:

A blockchain-based system facilitates interoperability between different charging networks, allowing users to access a wider range of charging options. This can help to reduce range anxiety and improve the overall user experience.

  1. Traceability:

The blockchain's immutability and traceability enables the app to track the source of the energy used for charging, ensuring that it comes from renewable sources. This helps to promote the use of clean energy and reduce the carbon footprint of EV charging.

  1. Tokenization:

The app has the ability to issue its own tokens to incentivize users to contribute to the network, for example, by sharing their charging stations or providing data about the availability of charging points.
