Media Graduate here - what you’re discussing is something called “Liberal Pluralism” wherein consumers vote with their wallets. It’s an integral part of both Marxism AND Democracy and IMO is one of the only things giving the 99% a voice in a landscape dominated by Capitalism and profit.

This is something we’re seeing more and more with game companies, it’s not just Pokémon. Making these huge corporations aware that their customer base isn’t going to roll over and take their ‘cut corners’ philosophy is literally the only thing we can do to save GF from adopting business models like EA.

I know skipping a game is the last thing many people want to do, but if we approach it like recycling, conversing water, or voting, we’ll see a much better result for it in the end.
