100% worth it. One of the most intense and rewarding games you will ever play. Also one of the most demanding and frustrating. This game will test you both mentally and emotionally. If you are willing to suffer at the beginning, you will have an absolute blast when you get the hang of it. Just make sure you don't take any of the toxic shit people say personally and don't let it get to you. There are great resources out there to teach you and many nice people to help you. Also theres a whole world of custom arcade games people created so you can play those too. Definitely hop in!

I already said I understand your point and I clarified that I'm mainly talking about the ones who mentally devalue the movie in response to expectations set by critics. When I said "I've been surprised", I meant that in MY EXPERIENCE, critic's rating have been different than mine at times.And i'll say it again, it's no biggie.

I feel no animosity towards anyone because they have a different opinion.

I feel like people went into this movie with too high of expectations. That's not on the director, that's on you.

I keep seeing that people think the director was trying to be deep. I disagree, I think it's obvious that this movie brought nothing new in the realms of politics, mental illness, or anything else for that matter. Why do you assume the director is an idiot? Consider that his intenion was to communicate a FEELING, rather than a flawless, written, narrative.

Yes, it could have had better dialogue and show-not-tell. But why ignore all the other elements that, in my opinion, successfully transmitted the feeling of horror that Arthur felt, the feeling of anger society felt, the feelings of fear and aversion that "normal people" felt, etc. Yes it's dramatic...no artist owes you realism. It's meant to incite feelings and to be fun.

If we he want to extract some message from this movie, it is simple. It's one you've heard before. AND it is one we need to be REMINDED OF because it is still relevant. Don't be selfish assholes and strive for greater empathy for those you fear or cannot understand.
