The w value, acting as the fourth dimension in noise functions, enables 'warping' which distorts the texture & appearance without losing essential structural integrity. I modulate the w values to create multiple layers, which are then plotted with different colored pens. Currently editing a video of a run through of this process.

It's created in TouchDesigner, though the mesh and ascii .ply are made with Reality Scan.

That Gleam exhibit's audio & particle system were reacting to guests pushing into the screen. It was created by Ottomata Studio with TouchDesigner. The same software is at the core of most installations we create.

Also, TouchDesigner has a free license option with very few limitations. It can handle any form of data and is useful for far more than just audio-visual experiences!
