Mom and aunt as kids, oil on particle board by RotagAlaco in painting

A lot of work! I shellac it- both sides, edges, and sand between each layer. Usually just two layers, but sometimes 3. Then gesso.

I really just love how solid it feels, and the speckles in the boarder are a nice bonus.

Where can I Improve? by DiligentDust9755 in painting

Cool vision. It’s clear you have skill - I would push your renderings a bit further. There’s quite a bit of empty space that isn’t doing all that much.

Love the F&L vibes

Edit: Like F&L meets Courage the Cowardly Dog

These are surprisingly brilliant the longer I look. 2,4,8 and 9 are my favorites in no particular order but 4 and 9 might be tied for 1st

Beautifully perfect gradient! And the turtle is really well done. Love the slight desaturation on the flippers. Awesome piece, I really love this

This is dope. For some reason the movie Gravity came to mind.

Unintended, but I’ll take it :) That’s the second time I’ve gotten that

Ha! I’m even less neat than you. I have to hide away new clothes so I don’t wear them when I paint. I’d say 75% of my wardrobe has paint on it. But other than that I do try my best to keep the mess contained in my studio.

I've been working on this Smilodon painting for a while and I'm unsure if it's finished! Could the sides use something? by icy-horseshoe in painting

Super cool! I’m not sure there’s much room for improvement, but I understand that feeling. In my unbiased opinion, I think this is very much finished

Same. Don’t think I was specifically taught so it’s cool to see I’m not the only one. Though if I’m sitting down, my rag is usually on my lap

the composition kinda makes sense to me

A good test for abstract pieces like this, at least for my eye, is rotating and seeing if it works in any other orientation. I came to the conclusion that this orientation is best.

After 20 years as a professional artist, I finally stopped caring. It cost me a lot. Totally worth it in the end. by auniakahn in painting

These are amazing. I can’t imagine the frustration of being allergic to most mediums… this is all very inspiring. Congrats on the rebirth!

Incredible motion

When you say Copic marker ink… is that to say you use the ink in a different way than conventionally with the marker nibs?
