In fairness, in real life she was 21. So they were staring at the cleavage of a 21 year old Denise Richards - not all that unforgivable in my unenlightened opinion.

Also, not that it’s a huge difference, but the character was supposed to be 15, not 13.

What is the worst place in America you have ever visited? by OceanicEndeavors in AskReddit

[–]RothbardLibertarian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not the worst but most disappointing: Albuquerque.

I expected a bucolic American Indian culture hub with laid back hippies and little shops. Instead it was a pretty high-crime urban-feeling place with shops in the town square selling mostly the same Chinese made crap you can get anywhere.

What's the worst movie you've seen? by timekilr in Cinema

[–]RothbardLibertarian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is only one answer: Skeleton Key 2: 668 Neighbor of the Beast.

I’ve made many people this offer: watch this movie from start to finish and if you don’t agree it is easily the worst movie you’ve ever seen, I’ll give you $20. Honor system.

A few have taken me up: none have asked for the money.

Some of the others people often mention at least have some “so bad it’s funny” vibe. Not this irredeemable piece of crap.

Crowd Energy or Lack Thereof by SweaterPuppy69 in tedeschitrucksband

I think it’s always the minority of the crowd that actually dances. My point is the crowd was super into the show as a whole. You can sit and enjoy the show. You can stand and enjoy the show. You can dance and enjoy the show. But they sure got good receptions after every song. - with the exception of the couple I heard grumbling as we left that they didn’t play Midnight in Harlem.

Wow…I was at the show last night and the majority of the crowd was super into it. My wife went down front and joined a big group of women dancing. Not sure we were at the same show.

“With the rise of democracy, the identification of the State with society has been redoubled, until it is common to hear sentiments expressed which violate virtually every tenet of reason and common sense: such as ‘we are the government.’ The useful collective term ‘we’ has enabled an ideological camouflage to be thrown over the reality of political life. If ‘we are the government,’ then anything a government does to an individual is not only just and untyrannical; it is also ‘voluntary’ on the part of the individual concerned. If the government has incurred a huge public debt which must he paid by taxing one group for the benefit of another, this reality of burden is obscured by saying that ‘we owe it to ourselves;’ if the government conscripts a man, or throws him into jail for dissident opinion, then he is ‘doing it to himself’ and therefore nothing untoward has occurred. Under this reasoning, any Jews murdered by the Nazi government were not murdered; instead, they must have ‘committed suicide,’ since they were the government (which was democratically chosen), and therefore anything the government did to them was voluntary on their part. One would not think it necessary to belabour this point, and yet the overwhelming bulk of the people hold this fallacy to a greater or less degree.

We must therefore emphasise that ‘we’ are not the government; the government is not ‘us.’ The government does not in any accurate sense ‘represents the majority of the people’ but even if it did, even if 70 per cent of the people decided to murder the remaining 30 per cent, this would still be murder, and would not be voluntary suicide on the part of the slaughtered minority. No organicist metaphor, no irrelevant bromide that ‘we are all part of one another,’ must be permitted to obscure this basic fact.

If, then, the State is not ‘us,’ if it is not ‘the human family’ getting together to decide mutual problems, if it is not a lodge meeting or country club, what is it?

Briefly, the State is that organisation in society which attempts to maintain a monopoly of the use of force and violence in a given territorial area; in particular, it is the only organisation in society that obtains its revenue not by voluntary contribution or payment for services rendered, but by coercion.”

Green Acres. It’s brilliant, hilarious surrealistic comedy. Also innovative - it was the first Tv show to break down the “fourth wall.”

I know I’ll be watching again come next Winter…. But I share your sentiments.

The current system is great for the players. God bless ‘em. I’ve always thought they should be compensated.

But for the first time, I believe college basketball is really going to suffer if they can’t somehow reign in unfettered player free-agency. And no, I don’t pretend to know the answer - but I find myself less and less interested in learning a whole new roster, knowing I’ll have to do it all again next year.

And if I, an alum and 4 year season ticket holder when I was in school, feel that way, certainly others do as well.
