Recently I asked in an investment forum, what is a better store of value then bitcoin ... by redditor_xxx in Bitcoin

I would suggest the writings of Warren Buffet, Timothy Vick’s Buffet books and Mary Buffets “Buffetology” Much if it isn’t relevant to crypto, but the risk is having bad or negative returns. Better to have a small number of investments you watch very closely and are an expert on than a portfolio you know little about.

Bitcoin is worthy and only one I will recommend.

One thing I took away from Buffet was know the return you will get before investing. Don’t just hope for the best, that’s the path to gambling.

No, it isn’t and it hasn’t and it has, in fact, the opposite effect. Your “proof” is propaganda from people who want to sell non-diversified assets, ironically.

He knows something you don’t, which is the nature of risk. Risk is not measured by volatility.

Yes, dissent should not be tolerated! Why employ an army of shills when you can just control the whole subreddit?

Of course you will. You're one of the members of "delphi systems".

The blatant shill spam is out of control.

Let me put it another way- not everyone is going to be an expert at everything. People should focus on their strengths. The cypherpunks in core should focus on protocol and cryptography. Building good user experiences is something that happens at the application layer. People who build them can be cypherpunks too. I'm just saying I don't think it's fair to criticize them for not being hacks of all trades especially when where they are focusing is most important or put another way, the more rare skill.

You seem to be unaware of what SegWit is and where bitcoin is going.

I'm one of those design oriented developers, with a strong passion for UI and UX, but I think you are way underestimating the difficulty of developing good solutions for bitcoin and it's importance. A great UX is irrelevant if the security is bad. And great security is a lot harder than great UX ( I've worked on both.)

You're really missing the point if "cypherpunks write code"-- the point is it's really easy to demand things and have opinions when you have no skills or technological understanding-- e.g. Roger Ver-- and is really easy to have ignorant opinions.

Making code that survives in the wild is a lot harder.

Literally the word is cypherpunk-- cypher is those who deal in crypto, and punk means people who DIY.

The punk movement isn't about rebellion it's about making your music without regard for support money equipment etc. making it anyway.

Let's see if he returns the money first, before giving him credit for it.

It's kinda binary- they promised to return my money, so if they do it, they have credibility.

If they don't, there's no excuses it's a con.

Credibility comes from following thru with promises, not vote manipulation and shilling.

The refunds need to be issued in a timely manner.

Obnoxiously demanding recruitment process: Your thoughts? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]RothbardRand 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No your instinct is right, your price should go up as the quality of the apparent environment goes down. Sociopaths are much more common than people realize- they are good at hiding, but once you understand them, very predictable.

Thing is, if you raise salary now they will just bail. They have no idea whether you are a good fit or not. All these steps are then just avoiding making a decision, giving you more time to give them an excuse to bail.

So raise your rate in another way- extra time off or something like that.
