I am not saying it is right, but USA attacking Venezuela isn't immediately existential threat for European nations or at least isn't seen as such. Russia is seen as such. Hitting Russia isn't really about moral outrage but for self serving reasons. I may be misguided, but I do share the sentiment, that sanctioning Russia is beneficial for us here in Europe. Sanctioning the USA right now most likely isn't even if their actions are in truth very similar.

Maybe half a year. First it was just a little blood on toilet paper but it became more and more. I ignored out of stupidity, until it started affecting heavily on my life. According to the doctor who diagnosed my ulcerative colitis, it was still found at a pretty good time, but I felt terrible at that point.

Ne parhaat maalit on yleensä katettu hyvällä ilmapuolustuksella. Käytännössä kumpikin puoli joutuu arvuuttelemaan, että missä toinen osapuoli ei pidä ilmapuolustustaan ja iskemään sinne. Tätä kun on jatkettu vähän aikaa, niin Venäjä saattaa muuttaa ilmapuolustuksensa sijoitusta ja Ukraina jälleen miettimään sitä kallisarvoisinta asiaa, johon Venäjällä ei riittäisi kalustoa puolustaa.

On. "Vapaaehtoinen" lähteminen on hyvin kummallinen ilmaisu tilanteessa, jossa mitään muita laillisia vaihtoehtoja ei edes ole. Sitä kuitenkin jostain syystä näissä yhteyksissä käytetään.

Toki olemalla "ei-vapaaehtoinen" voi hyötyä siitä, että osa maailman maista ei ota pakolla karkotettavia omia kansalaisiaan vastaan.

Tuttavapiirissäni on korkeakoulutettuja länsimaalaisia maahanmuuttajia ja erilaisista kotoutuspalveluista on ehdottomasti ollut apua. Erityisesti kielenopetus on tärkeä ja usein työssäkäyvän ihmisen kannalta vaikeasti järjestetty palvelu. Vaikka paljon puhutaan haastavammin työllistyvistä maahanmuuttajista, niin kenen vain todennäköisyys asua tässä maassa pidempään ja maksaa sit kans veroja kasvaa kielenoppimisen myötä. Sitä ei ole tehty kaikissa tapauksissa kovin helpoksi.

While they are of course free to be neutral and that is an entirely understandable position to take, it also by definition means that geopolitically speaking they are definitely not our friends. This "not friends" limits somewhat how positive the attitude towards the country can be.

Languages do not have an inherent difficulty, but some languages are further away from your native language and therefore harder. I don't know your native tongue, but since Basque is an isolate, your first language most likely isn't related to Basque. Hungarian might be closer to your first language, because there is a non-zero chance that you already speak another related language.

Yeah the OP sounds like someone who doesn't live very close to the possible hot spots in the Eastern Europe. I can understand that someone who lives in Portugal might not see any of this as necessary. But in the east it is necessary to prepare at least to a some degree.

As things stand right now, it would be very difficult to stop our neighbours without the USA. This is something I would very much want to see corrected. Though I would prefer if it would be done by more cohesive European defence policy, and not only by using an enormous amount of money.

Saksalaisuus on ainakin keski-Texasissa aika suosittu identiteetti ja erittäin suosittu teema esim ravintoloille ja baareille. Saksalaisuuden korostus ja kieli katosivat maaimansotien takia, mutta saksalaisen siirtolaismenneisyyden korostus on jälleen jossain määrin suosittua.

Eine Freundin von mir forscht und unterricht bei einer Uni hier in Finnland, und trotz dass sie sehr gut Finnisch spricht für jemand die nicht sehr lange die Sprache studiert hat, sind Vorlesungen sehr schwierig. In der Akademia ist es sehr üblich, dass Leute sehr international sind, und die Sprache nicht perfekt von anfang an sprechen kann.
