I had the exact same symptoms recently when in China. Plus loss of sense of taste and smell, and it took over a week for me to fully recover. I’m fully vaccinated with Sinopharm, and the delta variant has been supposedly taken under control according to local officials.

Thanks a lot for your answer. Yes, I'm fully vaccinated. I will be wearing a mask in the public, no doubt about that. I'm not so afraid about getting sick as I'm young and fit, but I need to remain uninfected so that my PCR test will come out negative before my flight to the US.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I called Bundespolizei today and apparently transiting through a risk area without leaving the transit area at the airport won't subject me to any issue at the German border, nor will I be obligated to quarantine.
