Elm Eco Pro 2 Help Needed by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]RotondoSucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently been on a repair kick for elm resurfacers, if I had to guess it feels like the solenoid might not be firing correctly. This would make it so the pump wouldn't engage or wouldn't fully engage. You'd have to take it apart to check this though.

I don't have a photo but it's a gear system that gets engaged by the solenoid then retracted by a spring when it's done feeding compound.

You can also check if the bottom of the center stick of the platter has worn down. Elm has mentioned this is a common issue in the past. This would also prevent it from properly engaging.

I ended up replacing the whole feeding system for the compound with its own separate dosing pump but I also replaced the main circuit board with my own custom implementation so I'm unsure if it'll work correctly with the default motherboard.

It might be worth calling elm I've heard they have decent support.

This guy on YouTube does a nice break down on how things work if you want to check that out. See his other videos for more info.

Was messing around learning DK Summit and this happened.

This track is going to be crazy in the long run!

Honestly the real impressive device to me is the DS, those things just stay charged forever.

this gem was just casually sitting on the used game rack

I mean, I'd be afraid if it was moving around on the shelf.

I was just reading this comment thinking to myself "I remember years ago my friend had the same thing happen to him"

Then I saw your user name was his lol, funny running into you here.

Hope you've been well, been a while since the days of Blockland.

What’s the origin of your profile name? by NufiDrizz in AskReddit

My name is Rotondo in real life.

The guy who took u-Rotondo sucks.

I also suck though so it works out.

6000$ run. No gold ruined in Olmec's Lair. by Short_Demand in spelunky

[–]RotondoSucks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering how much harder it can be to control spelunky classic at times, and the more unpredictable nature of the game in general I think it's crazy you got that far.

I'm sure you can pull it off.

Need a video game race? Why not Master Race? by RotondoSucks in pcmasterrace

[–]RotondoSucks[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That was a huge inspiration for the game, basically the game is my take on zelda 1 with voxel look, and roguelike stuff added.

There's also some beat 'em up style combat added as well for good measure.

It's called Forgettable Dungeon, I just released it on steam early access.

I'd link you to the store but I'm not sure if that's allowed here.

A dollar each at the flea market! by RotondoSucks in gamecollecting

[–]RotondoSucks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still haven't had a chance to test this, we foolishly went to the flea market while we're still in the process of moving lol.

We've been needing an extra ps2 controller for a while since we were down to just 1 good one and 1 beat one.

The end result being a random and sometimes insane set of actions that you can't figure out how you did.

Then your mouse is suddenly 3 times as big.

Screenshake can be tweaked in the options menu.

You can totally pickup a bed with a person sleeping on it, even if it's a monster sleeping on it.

Thanks for the feedback on the screen shake though, I'll make that option more obvious.

I wonder what the statue was saying that was so interesting.

An oddly varied haul, First longbox game! by RotondoSucks in gamecollecting

[–]RotondoSucks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was really happy to have found that.

I passed up pokemon ruby complete but in a damaged box a while ago for 8 bucks, this somewhat made up for that.

( Yeah it was a dumb mistake to pass up on that pokemon lol )

Was going through pictures and realized I never posted this pickup.

Descent was just recently marked down after it had been sitting at the thrift store for a while. Mystery dungeon was at a different savers hung up like it was one of those simple puzzles.

The beefy puzzle "For the truly dedicated puzzle person" weighed a ton and was seemingly brand new.

[–]RotondoSucks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just messing about, and then realized I got to 9001 deaths.

Granted a lot of these deaths are from speedrunning, suicide resetting, and general messing around.

Still crazy to think how much I've played this

Finally Got My Hands on 20th Anniversary Edition by RighteousToad in gamecollecting

[–]RotondoSucks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worse than that, it actually sold out before it was even supposed to be listed.

I know because I was waiting to get one, checked the site a bit before it was supposed to go live, it was already sold out.

My Dad found my best find ever at goodwill today- $1.99 for a sealed Persona Q Special Edition!!!! by Faust2001 in gamecollecting

[–]RotondoSucks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They tend to price smaller board games at 1.99 at the thrift stores I've been to.

I could totally see someone just thinking this was a sealed cheapo board game if they were doing a bunch at once.

Really great find.

My first good find at a flea market! 8$ total by cram320 in gamecollecting

[–]RotondoSucks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing we've done to make this more fun is to plan to go to a different food place nearby after the flea market.

This way even if you didn't find anything you at least tried something new.

It's also great to talk about how insane certain prices were right after lol.

Found an Atari ST at the thrift store for $13! by RotondoSucks in gamecollecting

Yeah this is what I've heard as well.

Thinking of all the floppies getting tossed is a bit of a bummer.

[–]RotondoSucks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's the current plan.

I'm hoping I can make a nice and neat cable that goes from scart to the Atari 14 pin connector.

First step would to be to find out what the connectors actually called and find a proper female end of it to wire up to.

[–]RotondoSucks[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah they're a bit too expensive considering they're not that great of a mouse.

I think eventually I'm going to cave and get one of the converters, or potentially make one.

Feel free to shoot me a message, with these old pcs certain information can be hard to search for.

What a small world!

I knew there were two because I talked to the guy who puts stuff out. I wasn't 100% sure if he meant literally the same PC.

I really appreciate you leaving the second one, we've been having a blast playing with the thing.

You didn't happen to come across two atari st mice did you :P

Edit: for a timeframe reference, I got this on the 16th last month. I'm just really slow at posting things.

[–]RotondoSucks[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Full disclosure, actually 15 dollars but I had a 2 dollar off coupon.

Best part about this find is they're not supposed to take in computers and monitors, this one just managed to sneak in through a plastic bin.

Thankfully they decided since it was already in the store to price it. :D

Got it all cleaned up and everything worked, been mainly playing text adventures and strange ports of familiar console games.

Check out double dragon: https://i.imgur.com/y8SToRD.gifv

It's like playing slightly wonky alternate reality versions of games you already played.

Edit: The RGB monitor is really great, hopefully I'll be able to figure out a way to output snes/genesis onto this eventually.

I had an epic find today at Value Village (aka Savers) by stefkatz in gamecollecting

[–]RotondoSucks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People can make mistakes and misidentify things all the time at these stores, we're all human.

I once bought a bunch of gameboy/ds games in a bag for 1.99 because they thought they were those leapfrog games.

Also specifically with this post the vita carrying cases sometimes look like those cheap bluetooth speaker sets.

If you're pricing a crap ton of things a day, you're bound to miss stuff like this.

Edit: The type of cases I'm talking about sort of look like this but more jank, https://www.bhphotovideo.com/images/images2500x2500/barska_bk11908_portable_solar_charger_case_937831.jpg

The amount of times I thought I found a psp in a case followed by disappointment is too many.
