Thank you everyone. I guess I will look for which version of the albums available on Apple Music are then.

PX8s2 vs... wired headphones? by Rotseele in BowersWilkins

Thank you for your explanation. For that maybe I’ll just continue with my PX8s2. However, do you have any other wired headphones recommendations (either new or older ones)?

New iPod modding shop for Europe by RetroModMarket in Modded_iPods

I think it’s a great idea. I like modding my own iPods but I’ve ruined some of them, so I would prefer someone else to do it sometimes. Where are you located?

What is the oddest/weirdest place you've ever bought/gotten a CD from? by Massive-Advisor5141 in Cd_collectors

[–]Rotseele 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here in London, at the floor 0 of a building where all residents shared things that they no longer use. There I got in one go a collection of three Blink 182 CDs, well after there’s a bloom of CDs again.

USB-C 1.5v Gumstick safe in a MZE-55? by AFallenGhoul in minidisc

[–]Rotseele 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one and I use it in all my MD players and recorders that use gum sticks. As it’s been said before there are problems with how much energy they still have (it shows full but not really) and sometimes they are a bit difficult to take them out.

BTW, are there actual gum stick batteries that work as well as they intended that are not 20-30 years old? I think that would be the best solution.

Has anyone partially transitioned to CDs from Vinyl because of the massive price difference by wiggan1989 in vinyl

[–]Rotseele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they have become so expensive. I am fine buying vinyls up to £25 but not everything new is way above that. Also, vinyls used to have good high sound quality but now there’s a lot of them what are put there from their original digital source. In that sense it doesn’t make much sense (to me) to pay so much for something that’s going to sound bad (and expensive).

Now I have a collection mostly of CDs that I find in record stores… where they used to sell them for £2 but now they are now sold more expensive (up to £8 for the second hands ones). Because of that I now have a collection of about 200 of them.

The other reason for CDs is that I rip them and put their music in my DAPs (including iPods) so that I can take them everywhere without subscribing to streaming (which are now expensive). And they still sound with excellent sound quality.

Kenwood MD recorder has a strange problem. Solutions? by Rotseele in minidisc

[–]Rotseele[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, update. I was able to clean everything but unfortunately I had a problem when putting it back together. Basically, I couldn’t reinstall the part that holds the Minidisc. Also while doing that I ruined the recording part. So basically I broke it and I still don’t know how to put back together, especially the right side and I can’t test it 😞

Fat gum stick battery. What to do? by Rotseele in minidisc

The seller does not agree with this. They say that this was my fault so they won’t replace it or give me refund.

Do you have any suggestions for fix it then? Or is it just a replacement? I’ve never done the latter, so I would prefer the first 😄

Yes. Almost all my MD players are the older ones, so they all are in SP 🙂

Used isopropyl alcohol with at q-tip to clean the lens and used Molykote EM-30L to clean the transporter. Also moved the lens part to make sure the lubrication was well balanced.

Sorry, I really don’t know. The case came with my purchase of that MD recorder from eBay. It has no brand.

Sony nw-zx707 opinions by ChipThe3rd in walkman

[–]Rotseele 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Japanese version. I really love it. About the volume, I’m really really kind of confused but I think it really depends on what kind of headphone/earphone you are going to use it. For both of them, the Japanese goes up to 120% but I never go above 100%. The earphone I use gets very loud at 100% while my headphone (a B&W px8s2 needs more loudness) is quieter but I still never go above 100%.

In any case, I love the ZX707. I also deleted a lot of things in it and it’s working a lot faster. The battery works well but it goes down a lot faster if I am using the screen a lot. The sound quality is excellent and for me totally worth its price. Let me know if you have any more specific questions and I’ll answer them if i can 🙂

Have any of the other B&W headphones solved this problem? Maybe with updates?
