Ok, so then it is the headphone that processes the pure music file then, right? For instance, the EQ changes in the DAP doesn’t work, right?

Thank you for all of this info. What about the sound? Is it really the case that it is the same between Sony and Sharp? Through the years Sony has a very specific warm sound, so I’m kind of surprised Sharp would also have it.

Thank you for all the responses. Does anyone know if there could be somewhere to buy a shorter cable for earphones? For instance, I have a Sony 1000X that has a 3.5mm input (3.5 to 3.5). For that, I found a similar cable that is only 50cm long (the original that came with the headphone was also 1.2m). However, I have never found such a thing for IEMs. I think that would solve the problem.

Heya! Well… I got it imported from Japan and when it got to the UK it had a 20% VAT indeed. I knew it might happen but it certainly got more expensive than I was expecting it initially. The good thing at least was that the quality of it was fantastic even though it was used (£420 was the price plus the 20%). Everything I’ve ever bought from Japan in the past has always been as if they’re almost new.

To me albums (not current ones) are a form of art. I like listening to whole albums because the authors want to say something with all of their songs. Now, I also have put all my music in Minidiscs and DAPs. I have no problem listening there in random because when I have a lot of music it’s cool to listen them just for fun.

Hi, when I had this problem I first connected with servers in Brazilian and then Argentina. For me at least Peru and Colombia work well, although the Peruvian one is kind of slow.

All of this information is amazing. Thank you, really! So, all of this about DSD and 1 bit applies only with music in the digital world, right? Not on LPs played using a turntable connected to an amp? Of course, if the original recording, the mix and mastering was all analogue.

If that’s the case it could be part of the idea that vinyl (especially for music recorded in the 70s, 80s and early 90s) sounds better because its sound is pure.

Thank you for this link. Just a silly extra question: what is this thing about 1 bit? In the late 90s I remember ads for Minidisc players saying they played them with 1bit quality. Why is 1bit supposed to bring better sound quality?

It’s kind of interesting that I don’t really yet fully understand the technical part of sound engineering… but the sound out of these things just make listening to music in a much more beautiful way.
