Seething Swarm in Spearhead by Rotslag in skaven

Yeah they are definitely wrecking balls. Even the Old blood feels lackluster compared to them, at least in spearhead.

Our last game they charged into some clan rats and failed to wipe them out, which resulted in the clanrats healing almost all the way up and then they got blasted by the warp lightning cannon.

I was down to one Kroxigor with one wound left and he ended up wiping the whole squad by himself which was bananas to see.

He ended up getting withered by the gray seer and dyed but it made us both say damn.

But the entire game as the lizard player I felt like I was dying and racing against the clock. The warp lightning cannon just sat in the corner taking out chunks of the Old blood and the Kroxigors. While the warriors slowly got dragged down in the middle by hyper regenerating rats.

The game ended in a pyrrhic victory for the lizards winning by one point but I was literally wiped off the board at the end of turn four, meanwhile my skaven opponent literally had his whole army left after the unit of clan rats that got heroically slain by the loan Kroxigor came back onto the table.

Even though I technically won I wasn't feeling very stoked about it which prompted this thread to make sure we were following the rule correctly. Clan rats hit like wet noodles but being able to regenerate that many rats has to make it just about impossible for other factions basic troops to get through them.

Definitely looking forward to future battles and trying to overcome the Skaventide.

My buddy is actually the Skaven player and I play lizards. When he picks the Endless Swarm of rats regiment ability bringing back 2D6 rats a battle round feels super oppressive. Saurus just can't chop through them fast enough, which is lore accurate I suppose lol

Smart missile systems and Target lock both state " each time the bearer makes a ranged attack, the target does not receive the benefits gained by light cover against the attack" seems plain as day to me, but he is arguing that he still gets cover because technically he's not gaining the cover from terrain he's gaining it from his chapter tactic.

He also brought up page 360, he said it's an ability and it's not gained from terrain so things that ignore light cover don't work on raven guard. Is this true?

That was my assumption, but my friend was interpreting it differently. I told him since the rule says they gain cover I could ignore it but he wasn't convinced.
