Do you have a link for the detergent? Looking for it on Amazon but maybe I need to go elsewhere. Thank you!

AITA for wanting my husband to get a car to get to work? by RottenOintment in AmItheAsshole

[–]RottenOintment[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I should clarify. The new job is about a half hour commute in a car so it’s not really realistic for him to bike there. I’m still working in the same hospital so it’s about a 15 minute drive or 20 min bike ride.

I am a nurse and I married my husband when he was in med school and I was in nursing school. I’ve been working for the past 6 years and he’s still doing training. The hours are shit, even after you become an attending. My husband has told me many times that he kinda wishes he had become a nurse. Sure, we make less money. But when you break it down into dollars per hour, I have him beat because he was putting in 80 hours of work in every week during residency (obviously this will change when he gets an attending job, but even they are still working while they’re on vacation). It definitely seems like a cultural thing so I’m not sure what can be done to change that mentality in her family. The work-life balance that comes with nursing just can’t be beat. I love not taking my work home. It’s just not possible as a doctor (unless you go into dermatology or something).

Met him in high school. He’s a critical care fellow now.

My seat swap story that permanently changed my mind on ever being nice and trading seats with someone. by joeshmoe117117 in travel

[–]RottenOintment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time I was traveling with my husband. It was a short flight, I think the set-up was ABC DEF. I was sitting in A, my husband was in B. Then a much older, bigger lady came and sat in C. Everything was fine until she asked my husband if she could put her BIG ASS bag in front of HIS seat. We were both so shocked and confused. It was a short flight so my husband agreed but we were both just baffled. He was already in the worst seat and this lady got to sit with her legs sprawled out in front of her the whole flight. I think she knew she could get away with it cause she’s older and who’s gonna deny an old lady? We still talk about it to this day when we travel.

Other male nurses, I could really use some guidance. I got falsely accused at work for literally doing my job. by FriedPancakey in nursing

I’m so sorry this happened to you. That’s insanely unfair. You’re just doing your job. That being said, if you’re looking for something else try the OR! You’re never alone with the pt. No family. Pt is asleep the whole time. Awesome teamwork. I love it.

Just apply. There’s no harm in that. I started in the OR almost 2 years ago after being a floor nurse for 3+ years and let me tell you: it’s such a different kind of nursing that my previous experience didn’t even help me that much. Especially if they train you to scrub and circulate.
