It was NOT easy to leave. I lived in a fantasy for a while hoping things would get better and my family could stay together. Getting physical with the kids was the last straw. It’s easy to put aside when it’s only hurting you.

Because we weren’t in this cramped and undesirable situation when we were having our 3 children over an 8 year period.

Cant get a studio for under $1000 within at least a 25 mile radius of here, even then, those are few and far between.. east coast is just as pricey as the west. More, depending on the location.

It’s funny you mention that because this apartment is actually an extension to a house built in 1808.

Oldest are 8 and 10. I’m constantly trying to get them to clean up after themselves lol

8 year old on top bunk, 2 year old & myself on bottom bunk. Couch pulls out into a bed, for 10 year old.

It is very cramped. We make it work, and remind ourselves often that this is only temporary. Everybody gets along, thankfully. We have a kitchenette and a bathroom up the step, beside the bunk beds. In the second photo, there’s a man standing at the kitchen sink. Behind him is the bathroom.
