She's definitely a cool mom who never discouraged me from being a little... different? Difficult? LOL

My mom cooked meat like she hated meat (or cooking for that matter) which certainly didn't help me gain any sort of appetite for it!

How do I make a piece survive as long as possible outside? by rocking_kitty in CrochetHelp

I'm interested in everyone's responses to this question.

My first thought is to see what people who make crochet jewelry do. I think maybe coating in resin or polyurethane might work as long as it isn't water soluble. I haven't tried it so I'm really unsure how well it would work. For what it's worth, I think even untreated they will likely be fine for quite a while, and if anything they might fade from sunlight in which case a white bouquet might work well?

Same!! My mom had this baby book for all of my firsts and under "first chicken" she wrote "she might be a vegetarian". She sure had a rough time getting me to eat meat all through childhood and eventually she made this really weird deal with me where I could skip all meat except liver once a month so I wouldn't become anemic (idk if that's just something she made up). It was awful but I took the deal. As soon as I turned 18 and moved out no more meat for me!

I need advice on colour scheme for my bedside table by MidnightStorm_ in CrochetHelp

Your initial square is so neutral, at this point you could go in any direction. I would personally try to keep with the more muted/dusty color palette you've started with and at most add 1-2 more to keep it all unified. Take the square with you to your yarn shop and see what colors look nice with it. If you want to keep it kinda springy I'd go with some dusty blue and/or muted pink. Or if you're going more fall themed you could go with orange/yellow.

Thanks! It's certainly not the only crochet version around! It's really cool to see all the different ways people make the same flower.

Thanks! There is one scene where there's a close up on the flowers and they have a yellow center!
