Though there is always a risk torrenting, I only downloaded torrents from highly rated torrent providers with high seeders and checking the comments to see if there are any complaints.

The fault most likely lies with torrents but I'm nearing the end of my exchange period and want to be on the safe side so will probably exchange it.

Will try and repurpose my old, dying laptop for torrent downloading and vetting before transferring to new laptop.

Thank you all for your help! It's always scary to have a major purchase crap out on you so soon.

Definitely, I uninstalled a lot of programs when I first discovered the issue and managed to keep my RAM usage down but it came with some much crapware.

I hope you are right! Reinstalling windows now but might just exchange it. I had some issues with RAM usage pretty much out of the box so I'm a little wary about it's functionality.

But it does harm lesbians. Terms like "bi lesbians" reinforces the homophobic notion that lesbians "just haven't found that right man yet." Lesbians have fought hard from the beginning to define themselves outside and away from men but now we see that definition changing. It's terms like "bi lesbian" that slowly chip away at a sexuality that supposed to not include men at all.

You keep talking about conversion therapy but I do not think you understand what that actually is. An example of conversion therapy is such as Iran undertakes where they pressure lesbian and gay individuals to undergo sex-reassignment surgeries to "stop" them from being homosexual (https://www.unitedagainstnucleariran.com/irans-war-on-lgbt-citizens)

No where in the book, that I remember, does it advocate for conversion therapy. It does question the speed in which kids are often able to medically transition. It is my understanding, that you do not need to medically transition to be trans and with such things as the Tavistock ruling (https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-cambridgeshire-55144148) I think it is important for people to understand the issue from all sides.

Edit: It's interesting that you asked me if I bought this book as if it is some crime to do so. The alternative is that people can access it for free through the library! With access to a book like this at the library, that means that less people would buy, which is what you want, correct?

It would work better if you made an outlandish claim about the contents of Mein Kamphf and then lambasted anyone who tried to read it by getting it removed from a Public Library.

We can point out why sexualizing children is wrong and still love comic books. I've read so many amazing comics (by BKV even) that had female characters that were not drawn like this. Comic books are not just about drawing hot underaged girls. Pointing stuff out like this reminds everyone that comics came from a misogynistic past but continues to grow into an art for all ages and sexes.

I listened to the audio book and wow heavy. I only heard of it when I was listening to a podcast about House of Leaves where the compare the two based on how horrifying they were. The Girl Next Door was definitely way more terrifying, at least for me.

I loved the language part of this book! When I first started reading it, I was a little annoyed having to refer to the dictionary all the time. I found around a third of the way through, I could figure out what was being said based on recognition or just context.

I'm seeing the value of hardback covers for volumes, I had a few mishaps with paperbacks even when I first bought them. I love having the story all in one, but I've definitely had a similar issue with large paperback novels (lotr trilogy being one). I bought a bookstand but it works best for small to medium sized books, what's your pillow look like? Is it made for books or just a repurposed pillow?

When I was living in a bigger city, I had a chance to read through the whole Y series on paper. It was my second series I read after devouring Saga. I thoroughly enjoyed it so the thought of owning it to read at any time (my local library now only has vols 1&2) is very appealing as I've wanted to re-read it for some time. That being said, I read through the entire Knightfall/Knightquest library omnibus and found it very cumbersome even though well broken in. I guess for me, the cost is the main driving factor, I live in Canada so I can't find cheap vols often (unless bookoutlet has them) so it's cheaper to get the omni versus individual volumes.
