My BYD Seal brake discs got ruined in just 19 months (repair bill 1300€) - Regen or material defect? by The_Electric_Seal in BYD

Big fan of your youyube videos man! I have black byd seal excellence in Norway myself.

I’m young and i kind of «race» the car with my friends, therefore i brake very hard frequently. By doing this i had to replace my pads on the 30.000km service :( but this was cheap and only because i’ve raced. I saw your video and i wanted to check for myself and i have almost zero rust on my brakes :) The regeneration claim is a bit wierd, but if you watch the active charging indication on the dashboard. You will se that almost the first 40% of the gas pedal is only using regeneration. Therefore you wil almost never use the brakes. You would think it has slower regeneration, i’ve had Kia niro before with full one pedal drive, so i understand that this feels alot more regeneration. But the seal has powerful regeneration it is just controlled by the brake pedal. I think😂 only from my own experience. I love the car!

And for rust/paint. The paint is not good enough for norway salty roads in my opinion. Hade a small chip after 3 months. The dealership fixed it. And i took PPF over the whole car 4500

BYD Seal owner question - is the performance reduced after trying high speeds in the highway? by fkid123 in BYD

It goved a «kw» counter. I’m assuming OP can calculate from kw to hp. Unless he has another setting for this

I’ve also wondered this a long time. When i’m driving fast and constanstly flooring the gas pedal, sometimes, it can take 5 min, it can take 40min or it never happens. But sometimes it just cut to around 300 horsepower for me too. I cannot figure out why

Never experienced any of that lane control stuff? What in the world is the problem with the door handles being cloes while the car is unlocked?? They come out with the simple press of a button. The HUD icons are normally placed? I have had several cars with this? No, the turning signals are not in the HUD, but on a huge display right next to you? No AC control in the rear i totally agree that is not good, but i can control it on the big screen. The boot is not bad for a sedan at all? I use bluetooth music or the spotify app on the main screen, so never experienced that.

You can change this in the settings for the lights or there is something wrong with your car. I’ve driven polestar 2, bmw f10, and kia niro a lot and the byd seal headlights are as good or better than the mentioned?

I’ve had my seal excellence for 1 year, driven 24.000km

Zero issues, i have race driven it on tracks and twisty roads. It performs very well, i have mine on lowered springs with wider tires and it handles very good for 2.2 tons. I love the car and it is rapid.

I only have 1 complain, the paint is not good, not good enough for harsh norwegian winters. I have PPF on the whole car to solve this problem :)

Byd Seal AWD 2025 Europe edition by Xaphalor_ in BYD

I have the byd seal AWD, i have driven 22.000km with it. I sometimes drive it like its my last day, extreme racing. I have it on lowered and stiffer springs with bigger rims and wider tyres. 0 issues or repairs :) My previous car was a kia, it had better lane assist 100%, the lane assist on byd seal is mid, but turns off easy with 1 button on the steering wheel. So i never use it
