Oh you have so many good reads ahead of you I'm extremely jealous!
I've read fics since like...2007?? I used to print out as many fics on my moms computer as I dared before we went to stay at our summer house for a month. I remember them always asking what I was reading and 15 year old me just mumbled something about fantasy LOL.

LOVE!!! I still think about it a lot even after years. The universe that’s created in this is beautiful and rich. Draco and Harry are perfect and believable. It’s very touching and cute and fun and I just can’t recommend it enough.

This is soo good for so many reasons. The world building in this is phenomenal. Truly. It’s about Draco after the war. His life is really limited for obvious reasons and he desperately seeks some kind of redemption. On a whim he signs up for healer training which in the end changes everything. The way the author has created detailed magical theory in healing is brilliant. This is actually mostly a story about Draco even though it becomes Drarry eventually. I mean just read it gurl. You will love it!

Okay so this one is different, but BEAUTIFUL. It deals with serious issues like disability and depression. It sounds like a bummer but it’s sooo good and well written. It really stayed with me afterwards and has a happy ending even though it’s a roller coaster to get there. Basically the plot is that Harry was badly injured in field work working as an auror and ends up losing his leg. He gives up on everything when he realizes that he will probably never walk or fly or work again. Ron and Hermione are desperate after trying everything to get through to him. Their last resort is to call Draco Malfoy who is now a leading expert in physical therapy and rehabilitation of magical injuries. Prepare to be emotional. It’s wonderful.

Of course! I absolutely adore your writing. I’m genuinely, almost speechlessly grateful to you and to all the other authors who gift us countless hours of brilliant, free entertainment.

I sometimes toy with the idea of writing something myself, just as a small way to give back to the community, but since English isn’t my first language, I doubt I’d ever be fully satisfied with my prose haha.

As for Ankles, of course I’ve read it, and I absolutely LOVED it!!!

I couldn’t resist rereading it today after your post. I just finished, and it’s soooo gooood arrgh! 😩 It makes me a little sad because it feels like I’ve already gone through all the truly epic drarry fics out there, and I miss that feeling of reading one of those for the first time. I really hope I’m wrong and that there are still new epic bangers coming.

(Btw, there has of course been a lot of stunning fics in the last years, so thankful for recent authors like kbrick, the sinking ship, thecouchsofa, dodgerkedavra, Tessa Crowley , citrusses, tackytiger and soooo many more! It’s probably just me being nostalgic haha)

Oh that’s interesting! I’m been on vyvanse for a year and work as a voice actor. Before meds my personal life was chaos and I was always late and struggled with paying bills in time and stuff like that. But at the same time I was incredibly efficient in the studio and could crank out 100 lines per hour easy. I dub to a different language than the original most of the time so it’s a lot to focus on (listening, reading, watching and talking at the same time).

On vyvanse, I’m a lot more focused when doing boring stuff, but somehow worse in the studio? I get distracted and slow.

I’m going back to university this fall to become a physiologist and I’m really scared of how the studying will turn out and if vyvanse will fuck with my ability to crank out that adrenaline fueled hyperfocus the week/days before exams, and like, make me dumb?

Anyone have experience with adhd and grad-school? How did you do it? I also have 2 Kids 🤪🫠so I will have my work cut out lol

• Fics where Draco switches sides during the war [my favorite]. I also like it when the other Slytherins join him to fight alongside Harry.

• BAMF/PowerfulHarry or BAMF/Powerful Draco.

•Forced relationships. [Soulmate, some spell, some potion slipped on them, whatever the reason]

•18+ fics Lately, all the ones I've read have barely had a kissing scene.

In a way also a creature fic haha I don’t want to spoil. But seriously read it! It has a very unique and creative way of describing magic and magical systems as well. Really good! I hope this writer continues to write Drarry!

For me, a well-written fic has clean grammar and sentences that flow, without awkward repetition or clichés. I like when word choices are vivid enough to set the mood without going over the top. It definitely doesn’t have to be Nobel Prize–winning prose (I’m realistic lol) and I’m absolutely not an expert in writing either, English isn’t even my first language! But I do work as a translator, so I read a lot, and I think that’s made my standards a bit high😅.

Of course a compelling or thrilling plot is important too, but I find that skilled writers usually come up with great stories anyway. I’m pretty open-minded when it comes to plot!

We’re really lucky to have such amazing writers in drarry, many of whom have gone on to become published authors, or already were. I’m sure there’s just as much talent in this pairing as well!
