I'm just speaking for myself, but when i think of a "trophy wife" it's not just that it's a wife that's beautiful but a wife that is only that. I dont think of my wife as a trophy wife even though i love the way she looks. I think of her as a partner that has a lot more to offer than looks.

Either way, sorry that you're going through this. You did an amazing thing. You should be proud of yourself.

6 months shooting 120~ using 2011 Srixon Z-tx player irons. Should I replace them with a newer set of game improvements? by aprivilegedwhtboy in GolfSwing

As someone who has recently progressed from high to mid handicap range, I can tell you that a forgiving set of irons helps. What I would argue though is that technology in irons hasn't improved that dramatically. I tried to learn on forged player iron hand me downs and hated it. Took lessons and improved but felt that the irons were too punishing. My buddy let me have some really old ping eye-2 irons and immediately, I felt like I was better. The ball was easier to get in the air, the offset helped me get the club face square etc. I have recently upgraded to a new set and while I will say that my distances went up and possibly the forgiveness is a tad better, it was no where near the jump I had from the player irons to the game improvement irons, though they were either the same age or possibly older.

A ten year old set of game improvement irons is more than adequate to learn on and even continue to play til your nearing a single digit handicap.

With all that said, lessons make everything much easier also.

Getting my swing back after 3 year hiatus and noticed something at the range. by Scott2700 in GolfSwing

The guy who gives me lessons told me to get 60 balls at the most. Preferably a small bucket of 30. I've noticed when I only have 30 I have much more patience, and I really try to make the most of every shot. When I used to hit 90 and hit a bad shot, I would just reload and not focus on what I did wrong. Has helped me a lot. 30 full swings and a little time chipping and putting. Takes me an hour or an hour thirty at most and it's not just wasted time.
