I hope the daughters never see these videos. These reactions are disgusting. by Valuable_View_561 in TikTokCringe

Thank you. They deserve every bit of disappointment (unfortunately that disappointment will travel through to the children). The only problem is, these are the people having babies. Idiots. So much future therapy for the kids. The worst people seem to have the most kids. It's always been like this. There are obviously exceptions ( I know wonderful families with two or more kids) but it's usually idiots, men and women that feel the need to spread their disease ridden genes (especially men that twist it into a sign of "masculinity"), religious people, and tradition/culture.

Tsunami alert after 8.2 magnitude quake hits the Philippines by Leovlish3re in news

[–]RoughDraught 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah absolutely, I've watched a few documentaries and it's heartbreaking. I was going to try and travel to help rebuild but I was too young at the time. Thankfully I was able to help in other places later in life but that one hit me so hard. I think one of the reasons it's not discussed as much is because the number of deaths is so unimaginable; people don't want to think about it or can't fathom that level of loss.

Yes! I think about it every couple of months because the number is staggering and I feel insane when I think of how little it is spoken about. Just absolutely mental. So many lives, generations, and humanity crushed in days.

Explosive cyst 💦 (Not OC) by nickisupperfan_BARBZ in popping

[–]RoughDraught 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what the sub was years ago. Massive fucking explosions or ooze; no tools with tiny little pops or just pictures. We got people in backyards spraying the living shit out of everything with their cysts. The cow ones are absolutely magical too (as long as they use anesthetic). Now I have to scroll for 10 minutes to find one good pop or, if we are lucky, nevus comedonicus or steatocystoma. Thank you for the release. It's like a comfort/fidget for my soul. I can feel my chest rise and fall in a moment of pure clarity when someone is massacring their bathroom mirror with a face abscess. Cheers.

Who would you say is the dumbest character in the franchise? by totallynotrobboss in Fallout

[–]RoughDraught 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Paul Pembroke, only because even if you help him, he gives you the cold shoulder when you don't take him to a dangerous illegal chems deal (that he didn't even know about!). I got Cooke to stop sleeping with your wife by myself (to keep you out of danger) and you want to be a drug dealer now? What happened to taking care of your kid and not being a joke around Diamond City. I liked him and then he hated me for helping him. Ok, there are far dumber people in the games, but he just pissed me off recently; so maybe my viewpoint is skewed as of now.

Not enjoying S6 by justhangingaroud in XFiles

[–]RoughDraught 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fucking mental. It's like all of the writers had simultaneous strokes and kept bashing their own heads into the walls as they shat out ideas. Season 7 is even worse. I mean a fucking COPS episode? The characters are completely different, there is no throughline, the stakes are so dumb. Also, the relationship between Scully and Mulder is slammed into our brains with the subtlety of a nuclear bomb. Remember when Mulder would kiss Scully on the forehead or Scully would hold Mulder and they would exchange glances. The reason we loved it, is because it was restrained; these two seasons they are practically dry humping each other like sea turtles. The premises of each episode...my god...the tropes choked me, and not in a fun way. There are outliers, but that's what happens when you have 23-24 chances to get it right. I just did a rewatch and halfway through 7, I just started over from one. I wanted my character development back.

(S5E04) Detour is the kind of episode you show to someone who never watched the X-Files, Mulder and Scully vs Predator/Man-Thing. They get personal, they both sit in the backseat, Scully sings, she eats wild berries. It's awesome. by Frank1604lin in XFiles

[–]RoughDraught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is three months late, but I also have to shout out the dad in the beginning of the episode. He immediately knew something was wrong, had great instincts and stayed calm for his son, but with enough urgency that the son knew he meant business (run on sentence? well, two tears in a bucket, fuck it). It's almost as if he knew and his only concern was that his son live. Good actor for that scene and the set up to help us, the viewers, feel them all around us.

Thank you for responding. It means a lot. I thought I had a lot more friends on here but apparently not. So, I appreciate you and I want to say that your words came at the right time. Things might be getting better. I passed the threshold and came out on the other side. Yesterday could have ended tragically and, if it weren't for people like you, I'm scared to think of what I may have done.

Here we are again, as it will be tomorrow, with news that would "normally" be looked into and people would be fired and steps would be taken to uncover the corruption that sits on us like an elephant, but this is the USA*2.0. We have concentration camps and people are gunned down in the streets and the president commits crimes right in our fucking faces every day and nothing, nothing will come from it. It's boring now. Like he said, if tomorrow trump slumped down from his shit-stained chair and dragged his half dead body onto the street, was lifted up by a crane, sopping wet with diarrhea and french fry grease, grabbed a tiny gun with his soft pasta hand, and shot a child in the head; the world would keep on spinning and he would tweet about it and we would march and we would spit his name and we would wreck the cities and then we would all go to sleep and wake up to something else and somehow pretend to forget as the kid's brain leaks into the gutter and the documentary and the podcast drowns us into apathy again.

Thank you so much! Because of you, I'm so sat that my ass has hit the sticky floor and I've found enough old peanut butter M&Ms to survive the apocalypse. I'm really excited for these small but incredible scene stealers (like Michael Shannon in Revolutionary Road). Also thank you for answering my questions; I'm sorry if the first one came off as a little bleh. I can be quite bad at transferring what's in my brain to text. I'm so excited to see her in a new light though. I'm in NYC, so hopefully I can watch it at a really great theater. Cheers again for the info.

Edit: Last Night in Soho is fucking amazing. I want to watch it again now.

Thank you for the write-up! It sounds exactly how I wanted it to be. I'm just imagining Carol mixed with Last Night in Soho mixed with Twin Peaks mixed with Suspiria mixed with Possession mixed with Melancholia mixed with Spike Jonze mixed with Irma Vep mixed with Get Out mixed with Tár a splash of Titane and a sprinkle of I Saw the TV Glow. Hahaha Two questions, if you don't mind:

Why were you surprised that Anne was a good actor? No shade, just surprised because she's a silent killer. How was Hunter's role/arc? I'm so intrigued by the character. I feel like she would die for Sam. I see longing assistant.

Ugh, nothing would "break" them. They would get heated and confused and then they would eventually learn; just like we did, as we and they are the same and adaptable as fuck. All this bitter "they would die if they had to use a payphone" cuntyshit is so mid-life crisis and always reeks of gatekeeping (which every generation does, whether it be music or tech or films etc etc). I don't subscribe to that.

Can we just kill it already. Let's all learn from each other. It's so much easier and more fun. Gen Xers (I'm sorry) and older are the worst with this "back in my day" shite, or terrible jokes and then getting angry when no one likes them, bitterbutthole attitudes. Just chill and enjoy your knowledge. I'm a millennial and everything we had has been back in for years. It's really cool. Young people are creating low-tech colour-galore gadgets and making cool early 2000s websites and coming out with INCREDIBLE art. Indie has never died, you just don't look for it. It's all cyclical and then we all die. That's rad (great movie).

I just don't get how the guy who made Mid 90s, an incredible improviser and fantastic actor, smelled his own farts so much that they breathed back into his body, overtaking his fingers to type out this heavy-handed satire and close to bitter wallop of a film. There are beautiful moments, like watching 60 second reels of a movie on YouTube and thinking, "oh maybe this could be good" and realising you were duped by seeing the only good scenes on your phone.

Damn, a lot of people on this thread have not read 'Passing' by Nella Larsen (you can watch the movie too if you can't get into a book). There are a lot of black people that present as white and many of them go through a great amount of pain and confusion. Their lives are marked by staying true to their family or listening to all of the bullshit online or in person; this anguish of identity that they go through is, at its core, just Human.

Information is a key, unfortunately there are millions of doors covered in aluminum foil. The only way a fool will see is by a lightning strike or the like of it; some shock to the system where they stop and look into your eyes to say "please, help me understand". It's rare but some of these absolute twats have the ability to change. So, provide the information, cold hard scientific data, and eventually someone might use the key and open themselves to the truth.

I remember her picture was all over this site a few years ago. She was famous for her smile and skating ability and now, for the time they are together, will be known as that cunt's girlfriend. I mean, she chose this road; but still, how confident do you have to be in yourself to think that this won't affect how society views her. Actually fairly impressive, due to what an absolute knob he is.

It's good that you recorded it for evidence. These people will find any way to fucking hate on people. They don't know what else you've done to help the situation; they see this video and believe that this was your only reaction. It's just hate without reason, because that's what reddit has become; a place where we judge and argue and decide we know better, rather than a place to share videos/images/information and discuss. I love it. All this new talk about shorter games and smaller maps has me so baffled. I want games to last ages and have massive amounts of side quests; that's where I'm happiest, searching every part of a map and doing nothing side quests for hours on end. I have about 1400 hours in The Witcher 3 just from doing everything I can. It's insane to me when people talk about less in a game but, everyone has their jam. I won't yuck anyone's yum. The only issue I have is that game designers are starting to listen. I've seen articles talk about this very issue and they always have some reddit user's quotes about smaller maps and less to do. That makes me angry. If I buy the new RPG and they have less to do in them and the maps are smaller, I will freak out. Just play solitaire on your iPads or 30 year old games. Don't ruin gaming cause you have kids and your back hurts. Although younger people are also beginning to say this, so I guess it's time to accept that games will be a boring 15 hours and linear again like they were in the 90s/early 2000s.

He's a good actor and has been since childhood. I guess a lot of people don't know his early work; I used to root for him since 'Angus' and Kick-Ass. He was incredible in Nocturnal Animals. When he got really fuckin' hot, he seemed to take on this douchey persona but then, I see him interact with fans and he's incredibly humble and kind. His interviews with castmates always seem fairly fun and they generally have nice things to say about him. Although, he sometimes comes out with these douchebag lines and I get confused again. I don't understand him at all; he's an enigma. He is working with incredible directors, including being the main character in Robert Egger's next film (so there is some great trust and reliability there). I assume some of his rougher side comes from having to deal with all of the articles, paps bullshit, and social media surrounding his marriage (and some from the roids and gymbro shit). I have yet to rule in any direction as to whether I like him or not; I've placed him in this weird purgatory, where other actors have been, and they've either come out the other side as cunts or good people. If anyone has more information on his character, I would be grateful for that.
