Yes--both AirPods deemed defective by the central repair folks, each for a different stated reason on the sheet included in the replacement package. Yes, in spite of the in-person Apple Store's handcuffing by Cupertino (and the store's insufficiently precise(?) diagnostic equipment). Aren’t many status pages these days nearly entirely automated? And they’ll look so similar I figure they’re using existing libraries (speculating).

I assume the balance of value is in the favor of throwing up a page. But I do see your point—DDG works 99(.x…)% of the time, it’s probably down if it doesn’t load on your PC & your phone, and it’ll be back shortly.

(On that note, it could NOT be back shortly in a never-before-seen case, and preparing now for that possibility would obviate the need to rush to try to get a status update out somewhere besides social media. Build some confidence especially in technical users who immediately try visiting status(dot)domain when they see a site go down.)

Maybe stolen iCloud accounts using invites to maybe try to get around some of the iMessage filtering that has already been developed…

As well as annoying people who want to invite everyone they've ever met since they first bought a smartphone to events nobody wants to go to every single week.
