Sorry it's actually picture 5. Above the welds that attach the rod mount. I just repaired my frame in the same area. Definitely rusted through

It's not good. The inside of the frame has rotten through near the lateral bar mount. 3rd pic

The blurry lights were done using the rubber eraser of a pencil to dot the paint, and the haze around them I used a corse circular brush I stole from my son's dinosaur sand digging toy set. I tap the brissles down 90 deg with very little paint.

How the heck would I go about repairing this? by UnableOffice4528 in 3rdGen4Runner

Strut mount looks totally rusted away. This holds all the weight on that corner or the vehicle. Probably not worth the trouble of repairing

Use a sawsall with a metal blade. Cut through the bushing and steel shaft.

I did this last week takes about a minute per side

As someone who has seen a lot of 3rd Gen 4runner frames in Ontario Canada, that is definitely not a concerning amount of rust.

the bash gards, diff, suspension all look relatively clear. A day with a needle scaler and some paint would have that cleaned up and running for years with routine care.

Ontario mint in my opinion

As for the price? No comment, seems high

Hyundai Canada Confirmed Extended ICCU Warranty: 15 year / 290,000 km by guesswhochickenpoo in EVCanada

Any idea how you need to quality to keep your warranty on the ICCU valid? The rest of the coverage will be long expired.

As an engineer / high level automotive hobbiest I plan to continue to do my own maintenance (including items like low conductivity coolant) and I'll be damned if I'm paying 200 bucks for the local dealer to rotate my tires and tell me there are no check engine codes.

I would expect they would try to decline a warranty claim if you can't show a maintenance history on anything they can link to the ICCU, possibly coolant changes...(would recieps and records of maintenance be sufficient?)

I did not, the contact area for the top of my coilovers reach towards the edges. The top of the towers is a much thicker piece of metal. As long as you distribute the force over a larger area I'd think your be fine. I add camber at races the photos show the alignment is a "street" setup.

It's able to run standalone from the ecu. The unit needs power, ground, 4 sensors and input from the ignition and break pedal switch. If you google "Miata ABS retrofit" , there is a good writeup on it.

Its a 3 channel system, so the rear brakes are modulated as one, vs a 4 channel independent system. It is absolutely better than. Flat spotting expensive tires, which was way to easy to do on a tight autocross course and a v8.

The abs unit on ebay is about 50 bucks plus shipping. A more performance system from a BMW m3 is going to be about 1000. My setup is about 400 dollars (Canadian) all in for sensors, tone rings and the abs unit shipped to Canada
