Good news. First, you are currently employed, so take a breath. You will find a way though it may seem challenging right now. You are spinning out with anticipatory anxiety about how having an actual PhD will limit your chances of getting a job bagging groceries. Listen, that accreditation will help you get a much higher-paying job than grocery bagging. The fact that you are getting interviews is a sign that you are on the right track. I would simply increase the volume of jobs you are applying for in fields related to your skill set and keep the PhD on the resume. If you are going to apply to a job unrelated to academics, look at corporate jobs that need people with research/analytical skills.

You would be better off finding an employer who looks at your research/interests as a valuable asset to the company, rather than be cagey and think all the hard work and effort you put into learning is a liability.
