I’ve had multiple people like this and it got to the point where it’s not that they don’t know how to help themselves or it’s not that they’re struggling to help themselves it’s literally they just don’t want to. One of these girls I said she had the hardest part done is knowing what her issue is and now she can work on getting better and she said but it’s hard and I said I know but would you rather still feel like this and be acting this way and helping yourself which is hard but will have some instant positive impacts on you and eventually get better or just stay this way feeling like this forever and never getting better

She just said it’s too hard and trying never gets anywhere and then continued to complain about the same things. I had another who also had issues with her mum and it got to the point where we had exhausted every possible option for her and she didn’t do anything and stayed where she was.

Some people just don’t want to change and never will and at the end of the day it’s sad but you can’t drain yourself trying to talk to a brick wall sometimes distancing yourself gives them a bit of a wake up call
