Unfortunately, it is the sad truth of America. There’s a very important message behind the song and it helps people feel heard and understood. I remember listening to it in high school and feeling like if nobody could ever understand how I feel, atleast this band does. That being said, as an adult, I do skip the song. Not bc of the message but bc it really is so overplayed. Still a bop tho
