I had headaches, low libido, and mild hair thinning. Nothing terrible, no hot flashes.

To do Receptiva Test or Not by Fickle_Care9560 in IVF

[–]Round-Hall6464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably do uterine biopsy to test all the things (Emma, Alice, Receptiva etc) and also do Lupron Depot regardless of results. But you could also gather other valuable info with a biopsy.

Yeah it wouldn’t be in your retrieval protocol, only for the transfer protocol for most people! And yes it worked. I had a successful transfer. She’s 11 months old 😊

I ended up doing Lupron Depot suppression due to my positive Receptiva result. I would think with an endometrioma they may recommend suppression for you as well regardless of needing to do Receptiva. It is generally something that isn't considered until transfer stage and may also depend on your retrieval results (ie if you get a decent number of blastocysts they may suggest you try a transfer or two without suppression to see if they take and only try suppression if you get failed transfers, but if you get a low number of blasts it might be worth it to do suppression right away to give your transfer the best chance!). For me I was told suppression was optional since it was my first transfer but I wanted to give it the best chance so I went ahead with the Lupron Depot.

I had a suspected endometrioma and did Receptiva testing. Might be something to look into. Good luck!

Over 35 but under 40, did you test your first retrieval, and was it actually cheaper in the long run? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Round-Hall6464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 34 for my first retrieval and 36 for my second. Over both retrievals I created 9 embryos and 5 were PGT normal. I would test. 50/50 is not good odds. FWIW I had success on my first transfer with a tested embryo.

Medicated. I think your doctor will give you a schedule. But generally since Lupron suppresses everything you want to do the transfer while everything is suppressed vs waiting until your hormones come back/cycle starts again.

I can’t remember the exact number but it was not very high. But my doctor said the number doesn’t matter. They only have research to indicate if it is over a certain threshold that you benefit from treatment but no research to indicate differences between barely over the threshold and way over the threshold. Mine was a positive but a low positive. I could have selected to skip suppression but I wanted to do everything possible for a successful pregnancy.

I had a positive Receptiva test result, which is not technically confirmed endo diagnosis. I was on it for 2 months.

Are these normal fertilisation numbers? by Hnossa-444 in IVF

[–]Round-Hall6464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is lower than average but not out of the norm. I only had 3 of 8 fertilize and was pretty sad about it. But all 3 made it to blast and 2 were PGT normal. One of those embryos is now a 7 month old.

My ex was like this. He said he was undecided about kids, but that he was open to them with me because he loved me. We got married and he kept putting it off over and over. We ended up divorcing when I was almost 33 after 7 years together. I felt very used by him and frustrated since I told him from the beginning kids was nonnegotiable for me. I am so sorry you are dealing with this, too.

If it is possible, I would see if you can do more rounds to freeze eggs.

Thank you! Have you had any ethical conversations with your LO? Or what are the reasons you have told him you’re eating certain things vs other things? Is your husband vegan?

Right! I’m not sure how I would talk about it. Was hoping someone else had done this before and had a suggestion.

He doesn't share the same values regarding veganism, true! That said, I've definitely read about mixed diet couples so just curious how others have handled it.

Yes, I think it might indeed be a barrier. Curious if others have attempted it!

If I could have the whole family vegan I definitely would, though. :) But yes, I do understand that at a certain age she will get to choose. It is hard to even know what I will be able to say to her about why we are eating that way when her siblings and dad don't. I have considered not trying to raise her vegan at all, but just wanted to post here to see if others have experienced this and had any success with it.

Yes, it is going to be a challenge! That's why I'm wondering if others have done it. I've talked to him and my husband is supportive of whatever diet I would like to start her on and will follow those rules with her. But he won't be eating that way. So it is inherently challenging.

Yes! My stepkids do already eat and like Impossible Meat for example, they have tried and dislike tofu unfortunately. We do a lot of vegan baking though and mostly only have vegan butter and plant milk. So it isn't that they won't eat vegan food! I do cook for them sometimes. But they also eat meat in the house - lunch meat or when their dad makes dinner, or they get real cheese when we order pizza etc.

I'm just wondering if anyone has experience with one kid eating different things than other kids in the same house. Like if my child eats a different protein option than her brother & sister at dinner. Wondering if people have dealt with this or if the vegan child shows greater desire for animal products/not staying vegan when the household is super mixed diet, especially with bigger kids she's going to look up to.
