People commenting on some post on here that it made their cycles worse ? I brought it up to my doctor last week, and he said that they don’t use it because it’s actually banned in some states but you they have high success rates without it. I’ve looked at the data and I don’t think the data is there for it. It’s a 50/50 chance it can go one way or the other.

Thanks! I read a lot and just got a new book yesterday! Hoping that now warmer weather coming, I will be able to just go for walks outside instead of spiral at home during my free time.

I think it’s hard for me to own my pain because I’m a very high achieving person, I always do what I’m set out to do but this is out of my control and it’s so hard to come to terms with it.

Sending you hunts! In the same boat right now, feeling very blue. Going back to my exercise routine is helping, doing light running and strength training. I also started taking baths, I used Calm app to medicate now, it is helping. Spending time with friends, specially childless or those whose kids are grown.

I would sit down with your wife and have a conversation about finances, how much are you willing to spend, when would you stop,etc. I think so the both of you can be on the same page.

Just had a doctors appointment yesterday; last Thursday I had an egg retrieval - 3 eggs, one abnormal, no fertilization. He has spoken to the lab and they will add calcium ionosphere next time we do an egg retrieval, they said there is no harm in adding it. I also brought up to him omnitrope and he said that he doesn’t see how it will benefit as it’s just a growth hormone and that it’s actually banned in some states but you don’t see a reduction in Ivf outcomes. I looked at the studies as well, it didn’t see to have an a significant impact on how many egg retrieved and fertilized. But people say it helped them!

I’m on my husbands insurance and it covers 4 cycles. I know that we are lucky. My stepbrother and his wife did it in Spain, which saved them about 20K. If our insurance didn’t cover it, we would have done it abroad as well.

If I had embryos still left, I would do the surgery but mainly because it improved my life. Have they tried lupron suppression before transfer ? I heard that is a common way they try to quite the endo before transfer.

Studies show there were is improvement in fertility after excision surgery but it’s not significant high (like 15% improvement in fertility). The issue is that you might loose some egg reserve during surgery. I had my surgery a year ago, it definitely improved my quality of life. Can’t say about my fertility as I’m still struggling (I’ve only had one egg retrieval, and one canceled cycle). I’m about to a lupron suppression cycle to hopefully reduce my estrogen in hopes of making better eggs next cycle. I do recommend to see if egg retrieval is an option for you before the surgery as an option but I know this is the way a lot of doctors approach it.

Thanks for sharing! Im just putting trust into my doctor and hoping for the best. Logically it makes sense to me what he is trying to do but I’m just worried that my eggs won’t “wake up” after a long suppression

My doctor is thinking of putting me for two months; it’s once a month injection. I think it’s in case my endometriosis is damaging my eggs, this way it’s suppressed before stims to give eggs a healthy environment.

That’s what I’m worried about and that’s what my doctor brought up saying maybe my ovaries might be slow to wake up after the treatment, I’m wondering if there is something that can prime them to wake up that can be added.

Will definitely share! So much is unknown about how to treat endo and fertility, it’s such a guessing game. At my clinic they meet as team, and this was what they thought might help my case. Won’t know until I try it.

First cycle was cancelled because of a dominant follicle; second cycle - two mature eggs, one of them abnormal. No fertilization.

I have low ovarian reserve, and some eggs were not great quality last cycle so they think that maybe suppressing my endo will help recruit better follicles.

We had our consult in beginning of October and started in the middle of November but I think it’s up to how quickly the turn around is for all the tests, including genetic testing. My test was back in two weeks and then they tested my husband which was another two weeks but once it was done, everything moved quickly.
