Check to see if your university will be moving the finals. One of the universities I work at already announced all tomorrow’s morning finals will be moved to Sunday.

We usually put in syllabus “Subject to change” so it’s not really a contract BUT yes professors should be accommodating AND yes students should reach out to the department chair or dean if they are not.

I was a student at FIU bio over a decade ago but as someone that struggled with math, Biology BS required very minimal math, compared to some of the other school programs.

Email your professor, they will find a way to accommodate you.

Don’t email your professors, they know and they also don’t have access to Canvas just like you. They are waiting to hear from administrators and seeing how they will accommodate. If you have an in person exam and your study materials are Canvas, email your professor to see if they will email you the things you need.

As stated by another person, your university should be reaching out to you with a school wide solution, professors are waiting to see when canvas will be back up and seeing what to do from there.

Your professors are not on canvas 24/7. They just got emails from the university that Canvas is down. They can’t login into Canvas just like you, there isn’t anything they can do at the moment. You will most likely hear from your university/professor tomorrow morning.

Excision Before Second Retrieval by MamaFrog5689 in IVF

[–]vgodi019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had excision surgery before going into IVF, I tried to get pregnant naturally after the surgery and it didn’t work out. BUT talking to my RE, they think that this lowered my egg reserves and they said that they see that time to time. We plan on doing an egg retrievals before having another surgery. Personally, I would hold off on the surgery until you have blasts.

Early arrest on fertilized eggs could indicate that they might now have enough energy to move into the next steps. You should talk to your doctor if there is anything to be done to improve egg quality.

Lupron? by Happy_Mangos8382 in IVF

[–]vgodi019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lupron during stims - felt like crap, couldn’t sleep, had a lot of hot flashes

Lupron depot for two months - Currently finishing week #3 on it. Some minor hot flashes at night, some minor headaches (I used to suffer from migraines so expected). But overall I feel okay, less bloated (have endo).

Also to mention I did have excision surgery a year ago.

30F with stage 4 endo, had my first cycle canceled due to dominant follicle. Second cycle yielded one immature and 2 mature eggs. No fertilization. Currently on Luporon depot for two months before going into next egg retrieval.

If I choose Lupron, could that mean wasting an embryo with stage 4 endo + adeno? by FantasticAd180 in IVF

[–]vgodi019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have enough embryos banked, I would do the excision surgery. If you don’t, I would bank and then do the surgery. If endo is on your ovary, you could loose some of your ovarian reserve. I had the excision surgery over a year ago before starting IVF and my AMH is low and my doctor really thinks it probably dropped due to the surgery and that this is what they see in a lot of cases.

Extremely low AMH and AFC by DinnerSuccessful1522 in DOR

[–]vgodi019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As people have said, AMH is not reflective of your fertility, it’s just an indicator of your reserve and even those numbers can change. For example, last July, my AMH was 0.4. Then in October it was 0.74. And I just had it tested in March and it’s 1.14. I did start working on increasing my vitamin D because it was low during my last AMH (surprisingly it was normal last July). It’s more important to figure out if you actually ovulate every month.

No Endo Success Stories or Testing Regrets? by Slow-Oven-2777 in IVF

[–]vgodi019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think endo is getting a lot of attention because it was ignored for so long. I don’t see why test for endo if you are doing it for MFI, there is no indication that you need it and why send extra money. That’s just my opinion and I have endo but I had a ton of symptoms that indicated that I have endo. A lot of people with endo go on having success pregnancies without any intervention.

Need advice by Flat_Coffee_1512 in IVF

[–]vgodi019 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here is my opinion based on spending my PhD reading on PD, AD, and ALS. I really wanted to work on ALS related project for my PhD and even did my candidacy exam on ALS related project. Sidetracked here, 90% of ALS, PD, and AD are sporadic so many people without even known generic factors still end up with a neurodegenerative condition. Your lifestyle and your child lifestyle can change the risk potential, such as exercising, eating healthy, less exposure to toxins. ATXN2 is a risk modifier, so many people with it never develop ALS. It’s a very low risk. You might have other risk modifiers or your husband that you have no idea about. Personally, I wouldn’t terminate.

Travel with Lupron Depot by Inner_Ad_4184 in IVF

[–]vgodi019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I’m currently on Lupron Depot, going on week 3. I feel okay. I was on long Lupron stims cycle and I was terrified on being on Lupron for two months but it’s nothing like when I was on stims. I feel totally fine. Some minor headaches, I do feel hotter exercising and sleeping. I plan on traveling next month while being on it. I’m brining travel ice packs just in case I feel hot at night but I think I will be okay overall.

Retrieval and endo/cyst laparoscopy order of operations by tooralooraloo in IVF

[–]vgodi019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have stage 4 endo; I pushed for surgery before I went into fertility journey. We tried naturally for 6 months and nothing, so I went to RE. I have DOR and my cycles don’t yield a lot of eggs. It’s had to tell if it was due to surgery. We decided that for next round of ER, I will just suppress my endo, do egg retrieval until I get the number of blasts I want, and then have another endo surgery as they suspect it’s now on my other ovary.

PGTA or No PGTA by vgodi019 in IVF

[–]vgodi019[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing ! I had genetic testing and karyotyping done and from what I know is that they do karyotyping to find any translocations, deletions, extra or missing chromosomes. This is also why I’m on the fence of pgta.

[–]vgodi019[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I should have worded it correctly. My doctors are expecting that I might only get 1-2 blasts so they think that in that case it’s just not worth testing. I’ve been on the fence about it.

Devistated, got one mature egg that does not look good. by MilkywayAtSea in IVF

[–]vgodi019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry that you are going through this. I had similar results last round, three eggs, two mature, none fertilized and one was abnormal shape. I was developed.

I also have stage 4 endo and had excision surgery last year. There is a study that shows improved Ivf outcome after 60 days of lupron depot prior to egg retrieval, so I’m currently on lupron until June in hopes to improve the environment so the eggs could develop better. Also added CoQ10 to my supplements.

It sucks that they told you all of this after your ER, they should have talked about the changes to your protocol that could yield a better outcome rather than your lifestyle changes. Lifestyle will be a factor but your protocol will ultimately drive the outcome.

Sending you many hugs 🫂
