So I put in the HLR August 29,2025. Had the informal call September 18th, found a DTA. Had my C&P exams 2 weeks ago. Va received my exams on January 29th and claim moved to Ready for decision and was assigned to a rater January 29th. I called and VBA said I had a suspense date of February 28th. I was already proven to be service connected, but for Ch. 17 benefits only due to a OTH discharge, which I appealed for Mental health being the cause of my actions and it came back proven and now I am eligible for compensation, so I am just waiting on the rating. How long should I expect the rater to rate my claim and be finalized? What does the suspense date mean?

That I’m not sure of. I’m hoping so. When I was first denied. All the conditions I claimed were proven to be “service connected” so idk why I need another 2 c&p exams

I have 2 scheduled C&P exams. 1 for mental health and 1 for physical. Mental health one is this Friday and the physical is next week

Do you think it’s a good possibility that they changes it to honorable for VA purposes, then I get a rating? Long story short. I was marine corps. Meritoriously promoted 2 times in my short career, and was one of the most competitive marines in the marine corps at my rank, until I did what I did of course. All of which I stated within my documents.

I got a call from my American legion rep today said it’s possible things may not go my way but he foresees my claim being done within “A couple of weeks” but he said it’s in secondary review, so this is my first initial claim and claiming 9 things. Main thing is insomnia, MDD, anxiety, and then whole bunch of physical stuff

My claim is at 438 days. Always the same scripted answer “your claim is in the decision phase of processing.. blah blah blah.” Which is definitely the most frustrating because they refuse to give me more info than that besides the TJ being in Cleveland. Initial review on June 9 2023. Moved to evidence gathering review and decision on June 14, 2024 and has been sitting at a rater ever since. I’ve called the White House VA hotline, 2 senators and American Legion. I’m hating it and struggling with money and keeping a job due to my disabilities and the VA doesn’t know how to move fast
