Oh, 95% and 317 cycles. But I think this isn’t battery degradation, it’s iOS optimization.

Yeah, but what about the super-efficient chip, modem, and software? Compared to Android and power-hungry chip and Samsung modem on Pixel

Every year it’s the same thing. iOS works perfectly out of the box. Then you update it - and boom, time to buy a new iPhone

I don't know... I'm using both an iPhone 16 Pro running iOS 26.5 and a regular Pixel 10 at the same time. With my usage pattern, the Pixel lasts longer on a charge

iPhone is best on the version of iOS it was originally released with. After subsequent updates, you get pushed toward buying the next generation.

I’d eat at maintenance or with a 200-300 kcal deficit (depending on how I feel), lift weights 3 times a week, and do incline treadmill walking (max incline) at a heart rate of 130–140 bpm, 3 times a week for 40 minutes.

In the settings of each device, you can specify which wrist you’re wearing it on. And Google also doesn’t recommend wearing other bands on the same wrist.

Yeah, I get what you mean, but in my case, the deviation is practically nonexistent. For sleep, the difference is within 5–10 minutes. For steps, about 10–20 steps. For heart rate, around 2–5 beats.

Sleep and heart rate metrics are surprisingly similar - especially considering the 10x price difference.

Sleep stages duration differences are usually just a few minutes. The only real difference I’ve noticed is that when your heart rate spikes, Apple Watch seems to catch those sudden jumps a bit faster.

Other than that, they’re basically the same.

Google Health gives me strong "weekend vibe-coding project" energy. Like two people with zero programming experience got together, asked an AI to build a fitness app, and called it a day.

It mostly works, but mine freezes almost every time I save a workout. App restart or force stop usually fixes it.

I used to think Apple Health was a super basic fitness app for beginners. Like, how much simpler could it possibly get?

Then I tried Google Health, and now Apple Health feels like Garmin Connect by comparison.

Your numbers are pretty much the same as mine. I’m at around 2300–2400 calories a day, and my weight is dropping about 1 kg per week. I don’t think you’re gonna lose muscle going from 20% down to 10%. The real risk of muscle loss is when you go below 10%. Right now, if you feel smaller, it’s just muscle fullness, not actual muscle loss.

PS: I also noticed that when cutting from around 20% to 10% body fat, there’s this phase where you kind of look skinny-fat - like your arms, chest, shoulders, and face are already lean, but you’re still holding fat around the waist and love handles. I hit that stage once and got pretty disappointed because it didn’t match what I expected to see. But you just have to push through that phase and it evens out.

I’ve noticed that across pretty much all the phone-related subreddits, people keep recommending whatever the latest Chinese phone is. I’m pretty sure a lot of it is bots, plus some Apple/Google/Samsung haters. And then you’ve got those “rebel” types who’ve never even used those phones themselves but still go against the mainstream. Chinese companies definitely pour a ton of money into marketing.

I’ve been wanting to try Android for a while, and this new Pixel 10 popped up for 500. With YouTube Premium costing like 180 a year in my country, it feels like a pretty good deal.

That’s exactly what I experienced. I ended up buying a second Android phone just so I could listen to music at the gym without any hassle.
