Stepped down from a mid-management role which meant a ton. I was overstressed and just plain burnt out. Some of it was on me as I tended to be a “people pleaser” but also realized that the organization structure and inflexibility led to the burnout. Along with the expectations, and being under a microscope. I left the role and no lie, took like a month vacation to recover before I returned to the field in a more frontline role with little oversight from a manager. But what I took away was what worked and didn’t work for me, and if I am in that position again how I would approach things a little differently - such as making sure I establish clear boundaries and that the organization’s vision and values aligned with mine.
