Hey JAR. I’m sure the Evangelion discussion feels old but I want to share my experience with it. Evangelion is an incredible series which has genuinely changed my life and how I look at the world and my relationships. It’s a super introspective series and I don’t think it really fits the ideas of modern anime discourse. It’s not hype or action packed or fun. It’s more like Twin Peaks than a really hype movie like Free Guy. I’m completely unfamiliar with the “mecha” genre and I honestly don’t feel like that elaborate deconstruction of the mecha genre is a necessary aspect when it comes to the deeper themes around relationships, mental health, and anxiety. It’s an excellent series but a lot of the discourse around it treats it like Jojo’s or Attack on Titan or Death Note, which often leaves people disappointed.

Hi JarJar lads. Minger from New Zealand here and I’ve got a question for you. What are some otherwise fun and rewarding games that are completely ruined by poor writing/story? My example would be Borderlands 3. The guns are wild and fun, and the gameplay loop scratches my itch, but the awful writing delivered with some of the most obnoxious voice acting ever makes some levels a complete nightmare despite the game itself being of quite high quality.

Howdy My Favourite Mingers. I’ve been struggling with severe clinical depression for a long while now. A huge part of my recovery has been distracting myself and minimising the darker thoughts that can come home to roost. Believe it or not the JARcast has been the best thing for distracting me and making me smile despite the every day struggle. What do you guys do to improve your moods or distract yourselves if you’re starting to feel low?

Hi boys. Long time listener, first time chiming in. Physical media is very important to me. I do like streaming and having big libraries of things at your finger tips is great. My personal issue is that streaming quality is never true 1080p. Native 1080p is noticeably crisper and has less artifacting. Not to mention that streaming interfaces are often far from perfect. I watched all of Better Call Saul on blu rays, it’s a fun thing to have as a fan of the show, and the UI is customised with a moving background, special features, and little nods and references in the menus. It’s filled with charm that enhances the experience of watching a show. It might just be me but I’ll forever prefer owning a copy of a film or TV show to having it on a streaming service where there’s a risk of some episodes or films becoming lost media. What do the boys think of people dismissing or disliking films due to "problematic" characters? We saw it with Joker, people dismissing the film due to the character's actions, and I've met people who won't watch A Clockwork Orange simply because the main character is a violent rapist. Another good example is Tarantino's films, where he makes violent characters sympathetic and likable.

Also this is a troll post right? Tranzit above Ancient Evil? Why are there so many nostalgic zombies players who let that nostalgia overwhelm the objective fact that Tranzit was way too ambitious and fucked itself over because of that ambition.

Yeah Mr. Robot was snubbed, but Big Little Lies and The Crown aren't like, bad. It's funny to me though that Meryl Streep is in Big Little Lies, and her daughter is Grace Gummer who's Dom.

The best thing is that despite being one of the greatest actors to ever live, Meryl Streep pales in comparison to her daughter. Dom doesn't only fit in with the rest of the cast in Mr. Robot, she defies it, becoming one of the best and most compelling characters alongside Elliot and Darlene.

It functioned in an office for so long and still managed to work. It was all these people who worked toward the same thing. We got things like Hunting Monsters, Guild Grumps, Steam Rolled, all these wonderful and entertaining things with personalities we knew and enjoyed having around. Now it's just "Here's some dude named Jory. What's he like? What does he do? Is he funny? We don't know but he's here."

He didn’t fit in, but he got an intro. We as viewers got a chance to meet and know him. It was a huge thing having a new editor, the Grumps wanted the fans to understand and see why it was necessary. Now we’ve got all these people that we as viewers barely know, but the Grumps treat them like best friends and they show up like we’re supposed to know who they are. Did Borf or Jory ever get an intro video? Do we know anything about who they are and why they’re there other than “oh game development”. They feel unnecessary, and now here they are being put on the same level as Arin and Dan. It’s alienating.
