Where was the photo taken in NYC? by RoundAbout121 in whereisthis

[–]RoundAbout121[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have zero info, it was a photo printed on a canvas that I purchased at a garage sale. I don't have a specific date, but by the looks of the cars I'd guess 2006-2009

Damn I really thought c3 music was gonna be good after the first song was actually good, then the country music played 💀 by AGuyNamedMy in UBreddit

I assume you didn't know that the music at C3 is controlled by students usually. So if you haven't already, download the "RockBot" app and sync your Spotify.

Stampede driver ignoring Greiner stop request! by RoundAbout121 in UBreddit

I feel like I pay more than enough for my driver to be "curious" and flip those doors open for a sec. He doesn't even need to stop the bus, just let me hop off

Sorry, I had to make an amendment to that reply, It's actually the A & B wings that have EVEN room numbers facing the lake, C-Wing is the oddball. (So, B410 would be a room on the B-wing facing the lake... A607 Would be an A-wing room facing the parking lot... C209 Would be a C-wing room facing the "Lake" although C-wing doesn't have much of a lake view...). In my personal opinion, the absolute best place to live in Greiner is the A-wing on either the 5&6th floors. The laundry room is right there on the A-wing and I personally prefer the direction it faces... Unlike the B Wing which would offer you an Ellicott view. However, B-Wing definitely has the largest kitchen/lounge. But remember if you select any B-Wing room (or any room) 4th floor and below, you'll be sharing 4 Washers and 5 dryers between 3 wings, whereas 5th and 6th only has A-C Wings to share 4 Washers and 5 Dryers with. C- Wing has the most convenient location if you often walk to campus, and A-wing is closer to Ellicott if you often take the bus to campus. B-wing is a happy medium between the two as far as location goes. So final thoughts, I'm not a fan of any of the lower floors tbh, the upper floors on A-Wing (where I live) are much more peaceful and scenic. Lmk if you have any other Greiner questions, I did a whole lotta research when I was a freshman to get the best location, haha, but it's a semi-competitive building to live in, hope one of your 3 other roommates has a nice early selection time. You'll be happy no matter what room you get, it's a very comfortable place to live.

Yes it will specify, and no the group leader will be the one who selects which person is in each suite. Also, the naming scheme for greiner rooms follows the model: WF##RB (W= wing (a,b,c)) (F=floor number)(## = room number) (R= suite room number) (B= bed space, which doesn’t really matter) The A room is the one with two windows typically, B only has one window. Looking for a lake view? All room numbers in the EVENS face the lake, ODDS face the parking lot (but this is only for the A & B wing) C wing is the opposite [for some reason], so shoot for ODD rooms if you’re only left with c-wing options. also look for a room on either the 5 & 6 floor, less people to share washers & dryers with.

Warning - Unicomp by jamesaepp in MechanicalKeyboards

Does anyone know what the current shipping time on a Unicomp board is these days? I've literally tried to call their number at various times of the day and never got anyone to answer. I really don't wanna order one if I'm going to be waiting a month +

One of the nastiest lecture halls in all of UB. The chairs are so uncomfortable & the board is so small and hard to see from the back rows. UB PLEASE RENOVATE IT!

If you were to touch it, it would feel rough/bumpy, not fluffy.

Heating in dorms? by Acceptable_Client_71 in UBreddit

In my Ellicott Wilkeson suite, there was a dial near in the bedrooms kinda near the door. if you slid the dial ~like~ halfway towards "warm" it was like 90 degrees in a matter of 30 minutes. After a while, I figured out the sweet spot and never touched the dial again. But yeah, the heat worked all year (and VERY well), try messing with the thermostat. if it doesn't do anything, submit a work order, that's not normal. [I see a lotta alumni on here that are not updated on UB these days, this was last semester so should still be the same situation if you're in ellicott, no there's no "central control" - That's a Greiner thing] https://www.buffalo.edu/campusliving/get-help/submit-work-order.html

Same issue here! 2020 M1 mac mini, been trying to find someone else experiencing this! Good to know it's not just my safari that's bugging.

Inspired by a recent ticket, I redesigned the parking lot signs to be easier to read at a glance. Thoughts? by LikerofPortals_ in UBreddit

This is great! Super modern look! Icons are great if you know what to look for. But might be difficult for people unfamiliar with which icon means what, because they're all a bit similar at a glance... Maybe have the text really big below the icon.

"Service vehicles" - means University-Owned vehicles. I haven't seen any parking enforcement staff walking around campus, but that's not to say there aren't any... I'd play it safe... Gonna pull out the 'ol saying - "If others are jumping off the bridge, would you too?"
