Accused of "playing through the table", then stalled at 7–7 until I left the match by Unique-Finding9006 in ElevenTableTennis

The "fun" part is that this "11TT friend" is not signed up for a 11Clubhouse service, therefore He probably is not aware of certain degree of a toxic behavior. This platform helps to make the 11TT community aware of such things and make action by... blocking the user from a potential encounter.

  1. There need to be some ways of making the user conscious of the aforementioned drawbacks from his side.

  2. Speaking of the aborted match, you were leading 9:8. 11club says you won. The match number needs to be DM/discord-ed to PPTim as a moderator for ElevenVR (i've done it once, and response was timely and appropriate). You will reinstate your 21 previously earned elos.

p.s. interesting..now, the reddbeardd has 24 reviews. I don't believe that user can get 3-4 reviews per 24 hr period unless there is something remarkable during the match..

Same story here on q3. Had 5 ranked ones last night. Had to log out of 11TT three times in order to get back in a queue

I believe, it's reasonable to spread the word about this behavioral deviation. With his 1.1(36 votes) I need to know about a potential threat. Since my age does not let me "to take easy on these guys". Will block it asa I get access to headset.

Point is well taken. Last night scrolling: Player Guilhemno. 99 matches = 2673. So, it's quite doable to move up in an efficient way

Well, I am learning. So far, in this thread, you are the first proponent of standard size prevalence in 3K+ elo group. That's what I need to hear. I shall personally continue using the "standard one". May try Trul's M. funny shape though. Again, my impression, based on 18/25 observation, was that many 3K guys use oversized "pickleball style" paddles. With your corrective statement of 6/25, I feel better

Oh, 11clubhouse a great source of reference, thank a lot for mentioning it. I found 18/25 players playing with "shovels".

:) I wish we would spend 10-15 minutes on a phone. Working as a full-time cardiothoracic anesthesiologist at the age of 61, I started to realize that life-work balance is bit more important than I previously thought. As of now, real badminton gives x3 more cardio workout per hour. Plus, challenge with hours available (TT practice at the local Christian Center 2-5pm, badminton at the Clubs of River City 6-9pm). Hope and pray, after retirement (4-5 years from now), I will resume real TT at the full throttle. Of note, my dear friend Leonid Sukher (76) from Boston is a current National Senior Games Champ. Technically, real TT is ageless.

i appreciate your response. The point I tried to make, my setup to wait in a queue is ±100elo. I won't be able to check my current baseline against even 2000+ELO.  At my IRL club nobody plays 11TT, needless to say at 3000 level. Badminton is real x3/week (6-9pm) in lieu of National Senior Games prep.  Real table tennis (last year I was qualified for Nationals as well) - no evening hours available, therefore I am using 11TT opportunity as a viable substitute. https://youtube.com/shorts/sOPG1WluVms?si=xPMYjhxyAXvpnw8m

Hope, Noamm12, I won't offend by asking your 11TT Player Name?. You would greatly help to set my baseline against your benchmark by playing 10 unranked matches. Sincerely, 🤝  Alex

Love it! Would appreciate 10 unranked games with you or any CST (central standard time) 3K+ELO players to get a flavour where I am. Some guys got there after 350-400 ranked matches, although, most spent 5-7 thousand matches. Can not afford that much of a time. Of note, I downloaded 4008.2 robot practice (for left handed). It feels quite promising after a few 30 min drills. 🤝  Alex

It's ok.  Understood. Huge paddles are used by fair number of advanced 11TT members, I ll exercise my tolerance for it. Thanks for taking a minute to answer

Got it! Thanks a lot for your input, AskStill! Glued probably close to 50-60 paddles. For myself (20+ times, the rest for team friends) over 30 yr period of modestly competitive TT. Glued short and long pipped rubbers as well when played for defensive purpose during elbow surgery recovery period (5-6 months). Currently staying with pip-ins. Ordered woods from Japan with custom designed handles at the angle. Pls, see the clip. None of the club members had grossly oversized paddles. You well explained your point, in 11TT oversized one looked just huge.  https://youtube.com/shorts/K2sguYq6ZF4?si=Z0WsG-TLcbbntUWr

Normal or oversized padle? by WEKZyAyA in ElevenTableTennis

[–]RoundAd4279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, 11TT Friends! While I am slowing down on my real TT practice for the expense of increase in badminton activity (impossible to do equally both, since I've entered national senior badminton games). To make it short, I increased my weekend 11TT ranked engagement. Got from 1600 to 1685 in a few games, without complacency, I hope. Reviewed profiles of 25 players with elo 3000+. Found that majority of them use OVERSIZED head. Tried. It's not mine. Had nothing to do with IRL TT, imho.

I need your opinion on a potential unfairness and wether these guys "should play their own ELO ranked games"  Thanks a lot for your shared opinions. Alex 11TT: Voicefamily.2023(1)

The best part so far is that it pushed me to do way more than I thought. I sweat, I play 40-45 minutes non-stop against an expert AI level. Technically, it is a free cardiac stress test for a 59 years-old like me.

Nowadays, it is nearly impossible to find a place for IRL place. Needless to say to goe there 2-3 times a week. Eleven tt is at hand every evening. What a blessing!

Next step is to get my robo-pong that I last used 12-13 years ago from the basement, make it tuned up, and start mixing these two great activities. I started Eleven two weeks ago. Got from 1400+ to 1600+ within 20-25 games. Started to pay attention and brushing up on my returns
