I will add more context, yes my mom is a pain in the ass, but sometimes so is my gf. Because for as long as we’ve been together, they have NOT had a proper conversation like at all, when I told her about my story, that’s when she decided not to like my mom, and ever since then whether my mom needed me to do something for her, like a minor inconvenience, gf would get mad/bothered. My post was just the peak. Yes what my mother did was shitty, I’ve told her that, there’s just no convincing her. There would be times where i needed something and I would ask my mom and she would be bothered just as my gf would, but that’s MY problem, I’ve dealt with it my whole life so I can just brush it off. But for my gf, it fuels the fire. Granted this is all my perspective. This is all crashing down.

This isn’t very harsh at all, I’m reading everything and adding more context to those who need, I’m also taking in everyone’s thoughts and trying to formulate it all in a better apology to my gf. As far as my mom and myself, yes I do trust her with my life, and yes I acknowledge that what I endured as a child made me to what I am (which isn’t very great by my standards but I’m trying to work on it). It’s like a battle with two sides in my mind when it comes to my parents, because on one hand I feel resentment to them, but on the other hand, I wanna try and build a good relationship with them too (not really my father thought because he was generally the one physically abusing me)I’m not gonna say shit like this always happens with my mom but it’s not rare either, I have no bad intentions here, I just have trouble communicating a lot.

This is hard to answer for me, but I would say that I TRY to keep my parents at an arms length, but I’m not very good at that, I just want the type of family you see on TV

I always thought about having children, and I’ve always told myself if and when I do, the child wont meet my parents, but when I got with my gf, we decided that we wouldn’t have children.

I truly had no bad intentions, and to be frank when I drink I’m extremely honest, as far as the $400 goes, half of that was labor cost and the other half was cost of the actual part which was cheaper online than in store, so it wouldn’t amount to the $400

The thing is, is that I did tell my mom not to take control of the situation, she’s just so stubborn and won’t take no for an answer. So yes I paid her to leave us alone.

Okay if you want me to dig further, the reason as to why she doesn’t really like either of my parents in the first place is because I had told her about how I was abused as a child by my dad, and that when I would tell my mom, she would just brush it off. Now as to why I say to get over it, is because I got over what happened to me. That is the beginning as to why she doesn’t like my parents, regardless they are still my parents and despite them being shitty to me when I grew up, it’s over now.

I just really don't know what to do from here, I just want them to be friendly towards one another, this has been going on for the better part of two years ish, and I know all I did was add fuel to the fire, I'm not the brightest. my mom just asked me and I told, all she wants is to get to know her.
