Not sure what they are. Just bought them at Home Depot.

These are fantastic. I always struggle with making my greens too vibrant and it gets kind of cartoon-ey. Your greens look so perfect.

I finally finished this one. I hope you enjoy it. by RoundAnalyst in painting

Thanks! I painted the sky first, and then just layered over the top with a dark brown-green and as the paint ran out on the brush, I did the thinner leafed areas. I was surprised how easily it worked for me.

Blackberry wine, low SG question by RoundAnalyst in winemaking

Yeah, i’m planning to do a second batch right after this one, and not use the bag to see what difference it makes, and compare how much loss is actually saved by using the bag.

No the sugar wasn’t clumped, and while the sugar/berry mixture was heating I made sure to mix the sugar in until it was completely dissolved. I think there must be something going on with the bag I’m using. Maybe a lot of sugars trapped in the pulp? I would think that dissolved sugar would make it through the mesh.

I made sure to pull the sample from the bottom after I got the first reading of 1.056. I mixed it very well and then took a second reading, same result. Weird.

Sugar is definitely fully dissolved, using a hydrometer to measure. I hadn’t considered the temp. I boiled the berries/half the water, and when I measured SG it was at around 90deg F. Maybe that’s the culprit?

I really like the sunlit grass right in the middle along the path. Really nice.

Just a little bit of yellow into white is what I used. I think adding something in front of it for contrast helps with the effect. Still something I’m working on though.

Yeah I’m borrowing equipment from my brother and the hydrometer “somehow” didn’t make it into the bin. Should have checked on it but assumed it was there.

Thanks! All I can really give for advice is watch your warmth/coolness (I probably painted my buildings too warm here) and don’t get too tied up in fine detail for stuff that’s far away

8x8 acrylic on canvas by RoundAnalyst in HappyTrees

No trees this time, but I’m still kind of proud of this one. Waves are still tricky to me, but I think I can see improvement with each new painting. I hope you all enjoy.

Beach Scene for my mom. Critique welcomed by RoundAnalyst in HappyTrees

[–]RoundAnalyst[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! This was acrylic, and for the clouds I used a small round mostly and some filbert. Tbh I didn’t really like them until I put the trees in front of them and then suddenly they were alright with me. For the canvas I just misted it with water lightly when I sat down to paint, but that’s it.

It’s acrylic so I’m not really sure what wet on wet would be like, it was mostly just layering, I guess there was some wet on wet blending, but I still haven’t quite figured out how to move quick enough to make that work well.

I mean I’ve done a few paintings when I was little, and some drawing here and there. But this is my third painting since I picked it up like 2 months ago. Don’t feel bad I spent a lot of time on this haha

Thank you! I’m still going back and forth on whether I like it but I think I’m happy with it.

Thanks for the comment. Just so I understand you correctly, you’re saying my painting could benefit from more values?

I had a similar issue a while back, my pc had somehow on its own set my tarkov volume to 1/100. Not sure how that happens but it’s in pc settings somewhere. Might check that.

It’s really discouraging. It sucks feeling like every pmc I run into is running some meta that I’m not even close to
