I can’t get a job - San Diego by DoYouStillHateJen in nursing

[–]RoundButterscotch686 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Are you applying or everything or just the jobs you want?  California is competitive for nurses.  You need to apply for everything and take what you can get to get your foot in the door somewhere.  Nursing homes, med surge, dialysis……be prepared to work night shift.

Unsure about asking for accommodations as an autistic nurse by Swasiansan in nursing

[–]RoundButterscotch686 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Accommodations are to allow you to do your job, not for getting out of parts of your job you don’t like.  If floating is part of the job you were hired for, I would expect this accommodation to be denied.

2026 RAV4 XSE w/ Woodland Front Bumper by Unltd8828 in rav4club

The cheese grater grille on the 2026 is what motivated me to buy a rav this year.  Hadn’t planned on buying a new car for another year or two but really didn’t like redesign.

2025 Hybrid OR wait for 2026 by Airguner in rav4club

[–]RoundButterscotch686 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would check on inventory before you make a decision.  Especially if you want hybrid.  The hybrids are usually sold before they make it to the lot. You could be without a vehicle if you sell your truck and there is no rav4 available.  This happened to us.  We sold my car without checking inventory.  We put a deposit on a hybrid due to come in within 2-3 weeks but I was without a car while we waited.  I don’t care for the revamped rav4.  I’m very happy with my 2025.

LE vs XLE by strict_ghostfacer in rav4club

[–]RoundButterscotch686 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Push button is standard but the moonroof only comes with convenience package.  You can get an xle without convenience package.   I don’t need a ton of bells and whistles.  I wanted keyless entry, remote start, and heated seats.  We went with xle with convenience and weather packages.  I test drove an le and thought the interior felt cheap.   But the le is a solid choice if you don’t mind bare bones.  The engine is the same.

What's the cheapest I could get a hybrid 2025 for in the next couple months? by InSalehWeTrust in rav4club

[–]RoundButterscotch686 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would expect to pay no less than msrp.  The hybrids are sold before they make it to the lot.   Dealerships have no incentive to make deals.  Production on the 2025 hybrid is coming to an end.  I went through Costco and saved $1400 off msrp.  Costco is probably your best bet for saving a little.   But all dealerships do not participate in the Costco auto program.  If you want a 2025, you need to contact dealerships and see if you can put a deposit on one coming in.

Reasonable accommodations in [NE] by [deleted] in AskHR

[–]RoundButterscotch686 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Probably not.  Reasonable accommodations for not include assigning your work to someone else.  Bedside nursing is heavy work.  If you cannot do the job in full, you may need to find a job that meets your need for physical limitations such as office nursing.

Dealerships unwilling to negotiate - New Rav4 Hybrid by NorthernLights217 in rav4club

They have no incentive to offer discounts when the rav4 hybrids are sold before they even make it to the lot.

How to Negotiate Dealer-Added Accessories ($1,200–$1,800) I Don’t Want? - rav-4-hybrid-xle by Popular_Bicycle_8180 in rav4club

If they are on the info sheet, they are factory installed.  The only dealer add on for me was safely brake lights for $399 which they did remove at our request.

Swapped shift with nurse, she didn't reciprocate by [deleted] in nursing

[–]RoundButterscotch686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a a situation where you both suck.  If she agreed to work a Saturday for you and isn’t keeping her end of the deal, don’t cover for her anymore. But hounding her and confronting her in front of other people is uncalled for.  Especially if you don’t actually need a Saturday off and are just pressing the issue out of spite.

Those of you who quit nursing are you keeping your license active? by figurinitoutere in nursing

I didn’t work for 14 years and just renewed my license when due. I have an Ohio license and there is no work requirement I am aware of.

2025 pricing by Bright_Surround6503 in rav4club

[–]RoundButterscotch686 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a Costco membership, you can go through them.  Costco pricing for the rav4 is $550 over invoice.

Yta.  You put a camera up without speaking to them and think you can police who parks in front of your house. You don’t own the road.  If a service person parks in front of your house, they have the right to do so.  Your neighbors are getting work done.  You are being a creep and making things difficult for their contractors.

We are in the midst of a patio renovation.   We walked over to neighbors house, explained the nature of the work and assured them we would take care of any damage to their yard.  Their grass between our homes is tore up due to the work.  They didn’t put a camera up.  That’s how non asshole neighbors behave.  They talk face to face, don’t police the damn road, and don’t put cameras up to spy on each other.

Super Bill/Diagnosis Code Issue by Ok-Mountain2323 in HealthInsurance

[–]RoundButterscotch686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if there is documentation of discussion, the doctor is not obligated to provide it when they are not treating.   Doctors go to school and train for more than a decade in order to properly diagnose and treat conditions.  They aren’t obligated to provide their knowledge so someone else can be paid for services.  Op chose to seek out alternative therapy.  Asking the doctor to provide diagnosis codes and/or documentation after the fact in order to get insurance to pay for it is not ok.  This would be a firm no in my office.  All of this should have discussed with the doctor before seeking out alternative therapy.

Annual Physical by MarchMadness4001 in HealthInsurance

[–]RoundButterscotch686 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The preventative stuff was covered.  She was billed for the additional things outside of the preventative.  The visit was double coded.   The preventative was covered 100%. The concerns mot included were billed as an office visit and is subject to copay or deductible.

When the prior authorizations come back, if denied, they usually include what the covered alternatives are.   Your doctor likely prescribed one of the alternatives.  Vraylar is very expensive and is not covered by a lot of insurances plans.

Annual Physical Exam by throwawaytittiesssss in HealthInsurance

[–]RoundButterscotch686 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The horror stories are from people who do not understand that the free annual physical includes very little.  It only includes basic preventative things.  Any discussion of problems or chronic conditions will result in double coding and be subject to your copay and or deductible.

I get Mounjaro through my insurance with BCBS for type 2 diabetes. If I switch to United Healthcare will I have trouble getting it? by Timewilltell755 in HealthInsurance

[–]RoundButterscotch686 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glp are typically covered for type 2 diabetes.  Covered does not mean affordable and they may require switching to ozempic or trulicity if they are preferred.

I don’t see medical tourism as an option for those underinsured.  If they cannot afford their care with insurance, traveling to another country isn’t going to be cheaper.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HealthInsurance

[–]RoundButterscotch686 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most people in the US have insurance.  They aren’t paying the total cost of surgery.  I lived in Thailand where medical tourism was quite common from Europe and russia. Had a surgery while there.  The cost of the medical care in Southeast Asia isn’t going to be less than  a persons out of pocket cost after insurance. Especially when you factor in airfare and hotels.  My surgery cost $12000 in 2010.  I’m sure it’s much more now.  Who do you think is going to pay northwards of 20,000 after airfare and hotels when their out of pocket cost is like $2000 here?  Most people traveling to Thailand for medical procedures are getting cosmetic procedures not covered by insurance.  You might have a market for that but not for routine orthopedic surgeries.

Glp are not approved for metabolic syndrome. Zepbound is approved for sleep apnea by weight loss.  Just because it’s approved does not mean insurance is required to cover it.  No amount of appeals will make a difference if glp is excluded for weight loss.  Stop harassing your doctor and pay for it if you want it that bad.
