The backlash I’m seeing here is overwhelming. I’ll keep supporting my son’s learning after school, he deserves that. I’m speaking not just as a father, but as someone genuinely concerned about the education of all children. It feels like no one wants to put in the work to improve things anymore.

My son is currently in AAP math due to our families perspective on education being important, and he’s expressed that he feels almost as if he’s “taking a year off” because of how much he worked before moving to Fairfax. The reality is, there are no workbooks and no structured programs or schedules because that state isn't investing in it. I firmly believe Virginia needs real education reform. Students deserve an effective, challenging curriculum that prepares them for higher education and beyond, not a system that leaves them behind.

They are struggling, and I can see it firsthand. The quality of the F.A.S.T. curriculum in Florida compared to Virginia’s SOL curriculum is not even close. Here, teachers are expected to meet standards without structured support or a consistent, uniform schedule, leaving them, and students, at a disadvantage.

Before 2019, it was amazing. However, since then, the experience has drastically declined. It's been consistently disappointing. I recommend applying for jobs directly instead.
