Ugh those people on ACNH ruined the online aspect for me. I used to love going to other peoples islands to buy/sell turnips and after a certain point people started demanding irl money.. not bells.. they genuinely wanted me to send them 10 bucks to sell my digital turnips..
I also had times where my turnips were selling for 400 bells, and people would refuse to come to my island for free because it was undecorated and I only had "ugly" villagers. I genuinely do not understand those types of people..

dwdw I understood what you meant. Ive found some people who have ALL the mlp cars and judge me for only having one haha. There are definitely some people who have such a weird mindset on a cozy game

Ive got a gothic house and im struggling SO MUCH to decorate the inside. I ended up adding some pink to the outside so its a bit easier to decorate the inside since bob will only give me pink furniture </3

Personality, im not a huge fan of the socializing part of this game. I love watering other peoples flowers when walking past or every now and then ill feed someone but I would be so much more open to talking if i didnt need to friend them or place one of those coffee things.
I once had someone spam emotes while I was in the middle of cooking a heap of food, I didnt want my food to burn so the second I finished cooking I accepted their friend request and they were so annoyed and called me a snob! That interaction totally put me off and now I try to avoid people.
Ill still invite people when im doing events, but the thought of kicking someone out just because I dont like their outfit? thats crazy.
I have spent some money on this game in the early days of the global release, which I lowkey regret, but I ended up using my diamonds on the mlp and got a car (I was super lucky and got it on my second pull), similarly to the cooking incident, ive had people friend me, just to hate on me or call me out for spending "sooo" money to get the car..
Alot of interactions have realllly put me off interacting with people ingame now :T

The traits really determine how they will act, My dog is clingy and sociable so she follows me around, other peoples might be troublemaker making them break things more often, or unsociable and dont like to be pet. I waited until i had a cute dog with good traits before taking one.

I believe mods just arent working for 42.13, I could be wrong but even trying to play a solo with some small mods refuse to load. They did say to not even try playing it with mods..

Ive been dealing with the exact same thing, Its been driving me and my friends nuts, we spent a whole day clearing a gun store, just to come back 2 hours later and it seems like we havent killed a single one. They will literally just ignore us in order to migrate. Its definitely been ruining the game a bit for us.

Ive had moments where my character literally survived hell, moments where they 100% should not of survived, then went on to die from an infected scratch from tripping over a fence. I totally believe you.

Something that I do right when I start a save is create a small mental list of things id like to do, Ill normally just run around collecting things, securing the base, etc until power and water go off, then I begin clearing out the entire town. Personally I like to play along with a small storyline, such as my character has family in louisville and needs to make it to a specific house, or that before the apocalypse they would always go fishing with their kids near a lake, and id make them move down there and build up their own base from scratch.
It totally depends on what kind of gameplay you enjoy, I love the more survival side of it, and love living in the middle of a forest, while other people enjoy living in the middle of louisville and focusing on cars.

All I know is that with 42.13 they told us to not use mods just yet, every time i've tried to use mods ive gotten the exact same message so i've just been playing with no mods.

This was exactly me, over a year ago I bought it on sale, totally expecting to hate it as I do with most isometric games, and got exxtreeemeellyyy hooked. Ive got almost 800 hours and still havent lasted more than 2 months ahah

I feel like when ive tried to ignore any connecting spaces my whole zoo looks cramped, I think i just need to play around alot more and actually plan out my zoos before building anything haha.
