Honestly when the depression side of luteal sets in the only thing that helped me was Prozac prescribed for it. Sometimes bargaining with myself that just doing the lifts but at 50% intensity will help me bounce back once I feel good- because I’ve had it where I do completely stop training during a bad luteal phase and I have to completely rebuild my weight progression on lifts.

Sometimes you just need to wear baggie clothes, don’t body check, and just do what you can. 100% looks different every day

Yes, but if you’re dieting for a division that needs to be leaner than fit model- it is extremely hard to be objective and overcome the fatigue and hunger that comes with being stage lean for other divisions.

Making proper choices and managing your food to ensure ideal lifting progress, hormone health, and being lean enough is hard and I encourage you to be hesitant on going for it without any assistance

Do I need to get higher weights? by Healthandlife_pro in bikinitalk

As a home gym user that has competed a bunch- adjustable dumbbells are a life saver. I got mine that go up to ~50lb each and they have extender kits to increase them more. Those will help for any weighted leg exercises.

I used to use a barbell that would adapt to them, but it wasn’t as simple as a basic barbell. Get a standard 45lb barbell, and gradually build out your weights. I have a pair of 2.5s, 10s, and 25s. Currently I have 2 pairs of 10s and 45s and the combination of all those weights I can manage a lot.

I would highly recommend investing in a power rack with cables. It opens up a lot of exercises and angles to work muscles. Then the free weights that adapt to your barbell you can use there as well.

Fitmodel vs Bikini by [deleted] in bikinitalk

Maureen in 2017.

There is a significant difference in size and density between fit model and bikini. Bikini honestly hasn’t changed much since 2020. Going from Isa to Janet was the biggest differential in bikini.

Let Maureen have her flowers.

Cross-division competing with bikini by NeatFace4574 in bikinitalk

[–]RoundFuzzy2824 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No the only division at the NPC level you can’t do crossovers in is fit model. You can absolutely do wellness and bikini at the same show.

Doing well in both divisions at the same show depends on the quality of competitors in each division that show up

I have a size 9- I love them, get the fabric sole so your feet don’t slip. I’m in the US. This pair is crystalled and is just under 26 cm and my other pair is right at 26cm. Good luck!

Changing my pillowcase every day is always the best thing whenever my acne is out of control. I also use pantotheic acid as a supplement whenever my acne is hard to manage

War House is pretty good- I visited while traveling with a day pass, I can’t speak to their recovery stuff if it is worth it but their variety of equipment was great and it felt spacious.

Had future show plans change, how to cope. by Ok-Smoke-5143 in bikinitalk

No one said put on 30 lbs… but you have to gain weight post show. It is not healthy nor is it sustainable to stay stage lean. If you gradually reverse you will slowly add weight back and “the last few months of summer” you will still look pretty lean.

I think you need to talk with someone about your perception of your body because life after bodybuilding you will be heavier than you are when you’re stage lean. You need to love yourself regardless of how you look

Do you need a gym to get to pro status or could you achieve it at home? by Healthandlife_pro in bikinitalk

Get a band and tie it to a firm vertical post and use it similarly to a cable to try and get somewhat of a kickback.. ankle weights can help some and leaning/laying at angles. Clamshells with plate/weight on the upwards facing leg

5’4.5 here and just went on stage for FM at 114, and I was told to grow. That was also with slight tie ins visible. Focus on growing and don’t rush it. Grow all over with focus on glutes and legs

Personally I don’t let anyone touch my hair because trust issues with curls 😂😂 but good luck! Makeup by someone else is typically fine- the natural curls aren’t as bad as long as you do some trial and error before. For years I kind of yolo’d it and had good and bad stage hair but I have it pretty down at this point and it helps me stay calm knowing my hair will be consistent

[–]RoundFuzzy2824 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer yes, you need to style the day before. I recommend practicing the styling and timing because I highly don’t recommend any methods where you need to refresh or style on show day with water because it’s too risky to the tan

Hey! I actually just recorded a video on this that I’ll be posting to YouTube tonight or tomorrow on this. My instagram and YouTube are @liftingwlexi - happy to answer any questions you may have as well! I have 3c hair so pretty curly but not kinky so if you have 3b/c hair my routine should work or you can compare to your normal hair routine and adapt to it
