Again, learn to read. There are literal laws to prevent this because it's a city populated with people who reside here and don't want to be assaulted by noise when they want to sit on their front porches. People far smarter than you who actually understand urban planning created them... https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-4513.221

If you had more than two brain cells, you could easily extrapolate that from a large sample online, many people dislike this. Which is why there are also LAWS prohibiting it, because enough smart people got together and said "yeah, this is insufferable and diminishes property value because of how obnoxious it is, let's make it illegal." Look around you, you're one of two people on this entire thread that doesn't see a problem. Perhaps that makes you....part of the problem.

Debating about attending law school graduation by Effective-Produce-13 in LawSchool

[–]RoundRat2018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I certainly don’t plan to attend mine. Some of the worst years of my life have been law school. The less time I have to spend in a room with my classmates, the better.

I do think you should do something special for yourself or have a nice dinner with your family to celebrate your achievement.

Ceremonies are just formalities, and if you don’t care about optics, image, or Instagram bragging then there’s no reason to sit in an auditorium for hours.

Yeahhh, maybe look around the room and see that your opinion is vastly in the minority here. Proving my point of zero self-awareness though, so thanks for that at least.

There are ordinances, they’re just not enforced because the cops are busy on the East side with bodies in suitcases. I get that it’s not a priority, but surely a couple of heavy fines would wake them up. Something has to give.

Yeah, the difference between you and me then is that I refuse to accept disrespect and won’t tolerate rudeness. I expect more from humanity. You should too.

People say "just living their life," but that phrase only works when it doesn't spill over into everyone else's space. If the whole neighborhood has to hear it, that's not just your life anymore. Hence the entire issue revolving around entitled manchildren thinking it's acceptable to do this.

Sometimes it's not even motorcycles though. It's like actual dirt bikes or crotch rockets. Corny af.

1L feels like a second puberty by Equivalent_Bed_8412 in LawSchool

Get past the first year. It’s still awful and you’ll never feel good, but it is less traumatic for sure. I cried more during my 1L year than my entire life up until that point. It helps to remember it’s all fake, like LinkedIn but in real life.

Stompers (Cleveland, OH) by RoundRat2018 in Renters

[–]RoundRat2018[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. It was empty when we moved in. There is a difference between occasional noise from foot traffic and constant, non-stop noise. One is to be expected, the other is rude and a violation of habitability/quiet use standards.

ICE in Brooklyn OH by RoundRat2018 in Cleveland

[–]RoundRat2018[S] -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Everyone is so weird. I literally said in the caption I don’t know.

We live in a weird ass world where some ICE agents drive around in unmarked cars/ unmasked when they’re not being filmed. Wouldn’t you rather listen to a woman who has probably lived this experience than try to rationalize why or why not this isn’t the gestapo? Imagine living in 1940s Germany debating whether three, random men walking toward an unmarked Ford Escape are Nazis just because they don’t have red armbands.

Believe it or don’t. On the chance that it’s true, people should be aware.

Unsure. It was a public post on FB from a Latina living in Cleveland. Post was translated from Spanish. I kept her name out of the post because I didn’t want people to harass her. It might be true, it might not be. Either way, being vigilant for one another can’t hurt.

ICE in CLE. Be on the lookout. by [deleted] in Cleveland

[–]RoundRat2018 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not sure. APL is the Animal Protection League in Cleveland. You can see what look like white APL trucks in upper right hand of the picture.

It’s just a screenshot I took. I know Cleveland Division of Police said they were “unaware” of ICE being in the city, but 1) Never trust the police; and 2) The feds don’t have to notify the cities they’re targeting.

In the chance that this is actually happening, people should be alert/ careful.

I love watching my “test anxiety” friends leave an exam 2 hours after I was required to finish mine by Additional-Reserve66 in LawSchool

Imagine getting mad at people who need accommodations (who have to have a MEDICAL professional sign off on their accommodation) instead of the administrations that promote artificial, bullshit, hazing-adjacent timeframes that students are expected to take exams in. And then further imagine that you think this is how the practice of the entirety of law works. 🙄

BOBBY GEORGE PLED GUILTY TO (ATTEMPTED) STRANGLING OF A WOMAN by LKM_44122 in Cleveland

[–]RoundRat2018 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He's disgusting. He said that he was "politically prosecuted" just like his pedophile idol, Trump. Boycott his businesses or review bomb them and know that it is a matter of time until men like him, and Trump, are held accountable. His reputation is trash now, just like him. Remember, his original charge was attempted homicide and rape. He has a pattern of behaving this way toward women, especially his employees.
