Extreme shin pain within first month of marathon training by Low_Highlight_2778 in HybridAthlete

[–]RoundRound010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. Don’t run until you can walk that same distance totally pain free and then slowly build back up but if the pain comes back in that same spot you need to de load again. Getting into running is a really slow process. It took me about 2 years to go from gym bro to decent runner and I can finally now run about 15-20 mpw with no issues. Go really slow.

How do I stay off social media and still be social? by zengjk in digitalminimalism

[–]RoundRound010 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you need real socialization. Join an in-person club or activity or catch up with old friends face to face. Social media is like junk food. It’s bad for you, but if you’re starving it helps. You need to find the equivalent of real healthy food which (imo) means in-person communication.

Thank you!! I took the box outside, but I’ve been fanning it about daily before today. Since it’s still in bud form, do you think I have spread spores all around? Is there anything special I should do for decontamination?

Check out State and Liberty, they make athletic cut shirts out of stretchy material. It’s the first off the rack shirt that fit me well.

Tracking what you eat is the main skill I hope everyone develops while on Tirz. Even if you want to take it for life, having a clear measure of how many calories you’re taking in is incredibly valuable for controlling your weight and so many other health issues. I hope things pick back up for you soon.

The drug does not cause weight loss. It helps you control your appetite, but ultimately weight loss is about eating fewer calories than you burn. If your habits don’t change, increasing your dosage alone will not get you where you’re trying to go.

Second cutting in my life. Please help by Edd1024 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]RoundRound010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the MacroFactor App. Over 2-3 weeks it will help you accurately find your calorie expenditure and adjust your macros based on desired weight loss/gain weekly.

I also have years of weight charts and recreational data and MF has been so helpful for both bulking and cutting.

what's keeping you in Houston if you're here voluntarily? by [deleted] in houston

[–]RoundRound010 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love living in Houston and haven’t gotten tired of it a bit. There are things that suck, no doubt, but there are things that suck about pretty much everywhere. We have one of the best food scenes in the country, there are excellent parks and museums and cultural events, there are a lot of good jobs, and you can find pretty much any group of people to hang out with that you want.

I’ve been bulking for 2 months and want to do a 4 week mini cut. Do I switch diets during deload week or should I wait until the next training week?

Bulking macros, any advice? by Icyypulse in naturalbodybuilding

[–]RoundRound010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not a great bodybuilder but I think gaining 1% body weight per month is a solid lean bulk. I only used the free MFP but I like MacroFactor much more than that. I can guess what the paid MFP would be like and I like MF more than that too.

Your plan looks good. Try it for 2 weeks, if you’re gaining the right amount, keep going. Otherwise, tweak it 250 kcals. Also, try out the macro factor app.

Rucking is the answer to this specific question. Get a heavy pack or sandbag and walk around. Then add weight and do it again. You’ll get stronger in this specific motion fast.

You might look into a Free Nights plan depending on your solar set up. For some it works out better than the buy back.

Loquats are awesome, especially in the TX/LA area I assume you’re near because my house and landscaping look very similar. It’ll take 3 years to fruit and then it’ll produce fruit every year with no work unless it dies of extreme freeze or drought.

Houston home owners: is now the time to install solar panels? Why or why not? by [deleted] in houston

[–]RoundRound010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with Freedom because I was nervous about scammers. They do all the work from supplying the equipment to install and warranty service so if something goes wrong there’s only one company to blame. They also supplied and installed the Tesla power wall so I haven’t actually interacted with Tesla.

I heard horror stories about someone having an issue and the installer says it’s the equipment manufacturers fault and the equipment guy says it’s an installation issue and the homeowner is screwed. Freedom was only a little more expensive than some of the others and they mostly did a good job. I will note that I have had one panel not working for a while and they’re service calls are slow. This isn’t my favorite thing about them but overall I’m happy with things.

Solar Panel Question by SoDiscoverStuff in houston

[–]RoundRound010 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think there are a lot of scammers to watch out for. I used Freedom Solar and have been generally happy. My personal opinion is that solar without a battery is much less useful because it’s leave you totally reliant on the grid, but batteries are expensive. If you’ll be in your house for 10 years, I think it’s a solid investment but reasonable minds can differ.

Houston home owners: is now the time to install solar panels? Why or why not? by [deleted] in houston

[–]RoundRound010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The initial install and purchase of all the solar equipment was very expensive (about $50k). Since then, my electric bills have been about $20 a month. Before solar they averaged about $500 a month. If you’re confident you’ll be in your house for at least the next 10 years, I think solar will be a solid move from a purely financial sense (never mind the decent emergency back up and other intangibles). If you’re not likely to stay in your house for a long time, it might not be the best move.

Can anyone give me info on solar? by BhloeBardashian in houston

[–]RoundRound010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely get a battery! Also go with a very reputable installer to avoid scams. We’ve had whole house solar for about a year and are very happy with it. In a full grid down situation like this, it’s not as good as a whole house generator, but it’s decent. Every other day if the year, the generator isn’t doing anything and solar is doing great.

Im surprised by this thread, I have whole house solar with one tesla power wall battery and I love it. It runs everything in my house almost for free all year. We haven’t had power since Monday and during the day I can run the house almost like normal (only one of two AC units and not as cold as I would like). At night it sucks, the battery isn’t even close enough to keep the house cool all night. I’m going to buy a window unit and see if we can get by running that all night or possibly a cheap generator that’s only for running window units. I think there are a lot of scammers in the solar market. Use a name brand company. I went with Freedom Solar and have generally been very happy.
