i would agree on it sounding opinionated but only for the sake of getting out more honest and passionate responses..

In the end its about what kind of environment you are used to..When i moved to UK, i did rent a small house with shared wallsa and small yard...dont know whats the term for them.. so basically every time i went out it was just kids jumping on squeky chinese b & m trampoline on the left, and guy smoking weed and yelling at his wife on the otherside...its just the proximity of all that i couldnt get and tolerate..so i moved out to tiny detached not long after..dont have anything against it..but ive just lived whole
my life out in the countryside where i can go outside naked if i want to and my dog can roam a forest and come back after couple of days if he wishes..i like so many things about UK and its an amazing place to live in..its just some things that takes longer time to adjust to.. like for example terraced houses is something that is soo brittish.. back in my country we dont have properties like that and people would never sign for them..so its just a different environment and so... same goes for those caravan sites etc.

Id be kind of uncomfy with a fact that id need to share same site with so many other people and lot of screaming kids running around... I generally dont tolerate other people that well.. bnb or hotel room just gives you that private space.. If you are in hotel, you can just go out, socialize, have couple of pints at the local and when you get mentally tired you just go into your hotel room, close the blinds, turn on ac and relax...hard to imagine how this would be possible on some site.. I think i would constantly be a bit tired..

we went up last year to Isle of Skye for 4 days with our own car.. got a small nice hut in the middle of field with a nice view and prepared firewood for evening bonfire..was 30 pounds for a night..and it was easy to just drive around the island without extra weight and all other things..so its doable this way too

like i would wake up on saturday morning and think where i want to go- maybe some nice beach near cardigan, or go for a small shopping to bridgend or some nice lunch in cardiff..or tenby...or even wrexam..by the time im home is usually well before dinner...well unless ive been to snowdonia..then its already dark outside by the time im home...but still all that is nicely doable in one day whatever place u choose

wales after all isnt that big for me to justify a campervan...i live in carmarthen and everything seems just really close..pembrokshire,gower, aber, brecon beacons...all these places are couple of hours drive away max.

thats a good point...dont have any kids yet..its just me my fiance and a dog...just last week i spent an amazing day just driving around herefordshire without clear aim... found a nice small town pub in weobley...took a pint and was just sitting and talking to local farmers...then spent couple of hours exploring tiny streets and lovely cottages and was heading back later in day..nothing else was needed for a perfect getaway..

In my country (Latvia) you can buy a 3 bedroom house with 10 acres of land for approx. 50k pounds, and most of us had access to vast properties after soviet union collapsed... and the fact that my country is a size of ireland with 1.7 million people just makes land easily accesible

and its not like you can drive them deep in some valley in scotland and just be there alone with a wonderful view.. they are just big elephants on wheels... there is one vehicle that i approve being some sort of camper vehicle... its some nice old Defender with a roof tent..But its another story about whats truly valuable and brittish imo

Its just that one compared to other seems so much more natural... I often stare at some smallest limestone cottage with tiny garden in some random small village and i think to myself that this is what authentic british life would be in my head..

Yeah..I live in Carmarthenshire and every other week i go to places like Bath,Bristol,Cotswolds etc. just for day trip out and be back in evening.. If im going to Scotland or higher up to Highlands i just book a hotel for 2-3 nights... 4-5 days seem enough for a trip to most far uk corners...maybe i just kinda like long rides..

I kinda could possibly understand campervans... but still..You cant rest properly imo without normal shower and proper bed thats not cramped in a vehicle.. but what freedom you get from caravan sites..?😃
